Lol I know! Do people think they are really common over here or something? Last summer we were on a trip and stopped at a plaza to walk the dogs around. Two guys working nearby noticed my husband walking aura and commented on her. Then they had a very loud conversation between them.
Guy #1 - she looks like one of those dogs from south Africa - what are they called?
Guy #2 - a dingo!
Guy #1- yeah that's it!

:D

They're cute, but nahhhh.... not my type of dog. You can all have them, and I'll just look at pics :p

Honestly don't crave one at all... I don't like GSD's and they just remind me of slinky GSD's!! Don't get me wrong, I prefer them to GSD's... a lot, but, nah.

I think I get a badge for being different at least!!

Honestly, I've really loved the malinois I've been around, however I've only spent much time around two of them and one is a show line dog. I liked that dog a lot. I'd totally take the right malinois over a GSD any day. GSDs don't do much for me.

However, that would only happen if I didn't have papillons, which is not going to happen. So probably a moot point.

You mean baby bat ears like in my avatar?? Like that?? :)

Yeah I have puppy fever also, we just announced a highly anticipated breeding today, and I'm so excited I don't know if I can sleep.
Yep just like that, all pointy and deceptively adorable!

Oh my that sounds exciting!

Baby Bat Ears. Fuzzy fur. We called Raptor "Baby Bat" until he was about 7 months old. On occasion my husband still asks me, "Where is the Bat?"
I might die that is so cute!! What a fun devil baby he must've been. And apparently I am going to respond to all the cute pics here, lol.

Monkeys....nyou need a Puppy!!! Especially a Mal Puppy. Eek. They're so freaking cute!!!!

It takes a special person to own a high drive dog...a mal especially, I think you're a good fit. You have a good reputation and have dealt with some pretty "nutty" dogs...Scout. LOL I would hate to see some others get a Mal or any high drive dog....it would kill me.
I'm just trying to be patient because I want to have all my ducks in a row before I get one and its going to be another year or three probably. Soooo hard to be patient!

Thank you that is a really nice compliment. Hoo boy, yeah Scout has been a very educational dog. I'm really glad I took her on because I've learned so much from her large number of issues, lol. And her being super sweet and devoted helps too, haha.
Even with the sharky puppy stuff and insane drive, I think it will be luxurious to someday fullfill my dream of getting a well bred pup and bring it up for doing fun sports and work. :)

Ps: monkeys - I may or may not be visiting mal puppies in the next couple of weeks ;) you might want to steer clear of the picture thread.
Aura was so cute as a little puppy! Oh I'm sure I"ll torture myself and visit the picture thread! I suck at resisting cute pics. :p

Hahaha, I think this is probably true too!

Also, I have to say the puppy into baby dreams sound way scarier!

I already get asked about my "wolves" all the time, so whats adding a dingo in. lol. Sometimes Lily gets called a coyote. How is a clearly mostly sled dog with way more substance a coyote?! People are so odd.

I have the Malinois puppy dream all the time and wake up screaming. Then I realize that I wasn't sleeping...

Harry was identified on the street as a Malinois four times. Sort of. One lady called him a Tuh-ROO-ven. I figured that she was trying to say Tervuren, and it happened so rarely that I counted it. One guy pronounced it "Mal-Annoys," and apparently had one just like him at home that they found on the street. One guy was a federal officer that was dumbfounded to see one in rural Iowa. Then an old guy at a flea market saw him and knew right what he was. He was taken back at how shocked we were that he knew what he was.

Occasionally Harry was identified as a GSD with something wrong. He had a particularly lanky build and was hard to keep weight on. One lady threatened to call AC because I was starving my GSD. More often, Harry was identified as a variety of wild canids, be it dingo, jackal, or hyena (not actually a canid).

Stan has been called a fox more times than he's been called a puppy. That's what baby hyenas and jackals look like, I guess.

Elsie's not a mal, but she's been ID'd as one more often than she's been called a terv. 99% of the time, she's called a German shepherd. She's also been called a fox, a wolf, a coyote, a husky, a chow, and a border collie.

lol, staffinois at your waking dream!
Crazy so few people knew what he was! Though thats probably good in all honesty given that most of the JQP can't handle their little pet dogs!
Stan is so cute, he does look a little foxy! :)

Its because Elsie is so svelt and sexy and fast and smart! :)

Oddly I've had a TON of people ask if Scout is part Terv. I dunno about terv, but there were some Groens and at least one purebred mal in that hoarding situation... so there is probably some Belgian in her mix with the GSD and husky. Just weird because except for her head shape and her curly tail she looks all GSD and is nowhere near as small as most Tervs are.

Excuse me but a certain Chazzer is NOT helping me say "no thanks" to a puppy.

Ahhhhh...... As of earlier this week I wasn't even thinking about my puppy until next year...
