I totally had a dream last night that I had a little male Malinois puppy.

I'm not even a huge puppy person, normally I prefer young adults. But he was so perfect and gatory and deliciously adorable with perfect baby bat ears and fuzzy puppy fur. Yes it was that detailed lol.

There is seriously something wrong with me, I have Mal fever so bad its even puppy fever. :rofl1:

I just keep telling myself to be patient, as its not time yet.

You mean baby bat ears like in my avatar?? Like that?? :)

Yeah I have puppy fever also, we just announced a highly anticipated breeding today, and I'm so excited I don't know if I can sleep.

Baby Bat Ears. Fuzzy fur. We called Raptor "Baby Bat" until he was about 7 months old. On occasion my husband still asks me, "Where is the Bat?"

I don't even want to talk about it. My brain has suddenly decided that a Mal is the OBVIOUS choice because I want to do high level obedience and bite work. No, brain... just, no.

Monkeys....nyou need a Puppy!!! Especially a Mal Puppy. Eek. They're so freaking cute!!!!

It takes a special person to own a high drive dog...a mal especially, I think you're a good fit. You have a good reputation and have dealt with some pretty "nutty" dogs...Scout. LOL I would hate to see some others get a Mal or any high drive dog....it would kill me.

I died at those pics! :yikes:
My next dog will be another GSD (this time from a breeder), but I can't lie, I've been thinking about Mals a lot lately. I used to prefer Tervs because of their coats (I love teh fluff <3) but I just usually hear more about Mals and how wonderfully crazy and drivey they are. My kind of dog. :D

I hope nobody minds if I hijack a little- for the Mal owners, do people usually know what breed you have?

There are tons of choices for those desires. Honestly there are some bitchin pit bulls who fit that bill. ;)

Squeeee at raptor puppy pics!! Aura had bat ears too, they went up at 5 weeks and never faltered. I'd post a pic but I can't from my phone.

Ps: monkeys - I may or may not be visiting mal puppies in the next couple of weeks ;) you might want to steer clear of the picture thread.

Lol! We are not getting another one, but Riley and Aura's parents had another litter. Just going to visit them and satisfy puppy fever without actually getting one ;)
Aw, false alarm, lol. Good way to satisfy puppy fever though.....smell the puppy breath and go home with a few puncture wounds. :)

So far? Not really, I had one person who asked me if he was a Mallowmar, but that was as close as we got. I DID get asked if he was a Doberman/GSD mix and if Saga was his DAD though. :yikes:

I saw Nico's baby pictures the other day and about died, SOOOOO CUTE, and then I heard stories about his puppyhood. Let's just say I am very glad I got him when he was a year old. :rofl1:

I have had the malinois dream before too. It was pretty awesome although unlikely to ever actually happen.

Some know the breed but mostly I tell them Belgian shepherd if they ask. i figure if they're interested enough they can do some research on coat and type distinctions. Also if they offer gsd I just smile and leave it be. ;)

All the time. I have to explain it every day I think.

Thanks! :) He sure was a cutie, wish I had known him then...

Thanks to this thread I had the Malinois dream last night also. Except they kept turning into REAL babies. It was kind of a nightmare...

Ditto! I get blank looks when I say Malinois so I say Belgian shepherd. Most people do not know what breed they are and straight up ask. I've only gotten a few shepherd mix and greyhound. The most guessed breed has been dingo for some odd reason lol!
