Are you from Washington, IL?

I was watching the coverage they were playing during the Bears delay, just awful. No one you know hurt right?
I'm from Pekin. Thankfully no one in my family lost home or were injured. (pets included) My in laws did lose a shed, and my aunt's direct neighbors did lose their roof. But those are small losses. Washington was hit much worse. I believe my in laws have family there, but as far as I know, everyone is ok.

Lots of scary videos from family of the funnel cloud entirely too close to their homes though.

I'm getting really tired of how inconsiderate my future BIL is...I didn't think we would need house rules like "give us a heads up before people come over" and "restock or at least let it be known when you've used the last of something"

Leveled parts of a town about 10 minutes from here, they evacuated the entire town.

I was at my house doing some work and listening to the Bears game on the radio and the EAS went off for a tornado warning, so I came back to my parent's house where there's a basement. Had a freakout on the way back (it's about an eight minute drive...) because I realized they were using The Button at the station. The Button is only to be used during an emergency. It puts the jock out across all the stations at once. That was when I knew it was serious, because he wouldn't have used The Button unless it was really serious. Got home, grabbed dogs, and we all stayed in the basement until it was over. Everything is fine at my parent's house. I went back to my house and had to park in the street to remove limbs from my driveway before I could pull in, and had to haul another large limb out of the street.
The carport behind my garage was almost ripped up off the asphalt. One entire side was up over two inches off the ground and the other side had started coming up, I could tell by the elevated screws that are supposed to hold it down. I don't know what would have happened if it came loose, if it would have just rammed into the garage or if it would have actually gotten picked up and thrown somewhere... I don't know how to secure it down more than it is. They were saying 70+ MPH winds. That can't happen again so we'll have to figure something out. I was going to just leave it, because the space underneath there is shielded from the rain and snow so I can still work the dogs outside in crappy weather... but now I'm wondering if I should remove it... it's scary.

So far everybody I know is safe and hasn't lost anything, but the major damage is very close. About forty minutes.

We were at the bar for the Bears game from 10:30 to 4:30 because of the tornado delay, which meant I'm done being in public today and thus am not watching the Chiefs/Broncos game. Which is basically my Superbowl. And my favorite station won't load on IHeartRadio so I'm having to listen to the crappy Denver announcers and whine whine whine.

Every night since I've brought my little foster dog home we work on short grooming sessions where I try to tease out some of her crusty fur caused by the untreated skin infection she came in with. Realized it's all crusty and red in between the toes of both back feet... oh and btw she's got some fused together paw pads and that foot just kinda feels weird.

Slept through my alarm today then found out my friends mom passed away. Then a group of five of us were supposed to go to a painting/bar thing and three cancelled. Shaping up to be a good day. :(

Tenant's insurance? Here you have to legally have it to rent. Also, your lease agreement may have answers regarding what happens in the case of disaster.

UGH the dogs went lure coursing on Sat but haven't been exercised since, because Illinois was all full of tornados and what not.

Now it's sunny and decent out, and it's my day off, but I feel sick. :( Not badly but my throat feels raw, I'm short of breath, and my neck aches. Just bad enough that I want to wuss out on exercising the dogs, in short.

Except they're driving me NUTS. Especially a certain brown stick dog, who's been following me and then darting to the back door optimistically every time I so much as move. Which means as I do laundry she's hurtling around the house in desperation, bowling through people, dogs, and objects alike.

Yay.

:D Wanna borrow her?

Nah, just kidding, she plopped next to me on the couch, so she stays for the time being. LOL Besides, I think there's been enough destruction at your place for now. Hope you get that all taken care of quickly!
