Apparently she wants to apologize in person. I am hoping and praying that we can work this out.
I hope something good comes out of it.

I am NOT trying to say that you should dump her.. IF she wants to work it out.

But I've been in a couple situations where I was really emotionally damaged due to my 'friend'. A friend that I called my brother (we were not as close as you and your friend seem to be, though) was nearly bi polar. He would get really protective of me and advise me (act like a big brother) and then he would insult me, call me immature, a brat, whatever. And it hurt so much. And every single time, I went back. One day, I realized it wasn't worth it. Yes, he was a great friend when he wanted to be, but when he didn't want to be, he was HORRIBLE. I spent too many nights crying over his words to me.

I don't think it's necessarily part of 'growing up'. But it's going to happen, and I think that's what is meant. Especially since several people on here are in their 20's. You love and loss, live and learn a lot during this time.

I just don't want to see you upset. That might seem weird, but I don't mean to come across that way. :p I think most people don't like seeing other's go through hard times. Of course, we're going to have advice but honestly only you can decide what to do. Take everything with a grain of salt. Relationships are just hard. I haven't found a perfect one yet

Good luck. sincerely. You deserve to be happy, don't let anyone make you feel differently.

And yes... the job... ugh... I need a job but there's just so many cons to this one. And commission? Omg I am NOT a salesperson. I just don't feel comfortable doing it. I don't want people coming to my house. I'm a private person. That's annoying. You weren't invited.
Not to mention, hearing some of the 'icebreakers' these girls had.... so ridiculous. And really unprofessional, to me. They were laughing and giggling and making jokes about the house. (They weren't mean or rude, really... I'm just a stickler for manners, I guess.) They told a few people we were there for dinner. It managed to get awkward chuckles. And they acted like that was a good thing? *awkward chuckles*

Thank you so much Beanie and Airn. Your posts made me feel a lot better. Some validation is always nice and I hope we can work it out but like you said, Beanie, if not, it's more of a "mourning someone who isn't there anymore" type of thing. I don't know this new person and I don't like her. So yeah, I don't know. I think it would be a little easier if I didn't have to see her 2 to 4 times a week at church... It's a VERY small church and I am the pastor's daughter and the LAST thing I want to do is cause discord among the people in the church or cause her and her family to leave because of awkwardness or arguing. I don't think things will ever be the same whether she apologizes or not, but I hope things can be okay for us. Because I love her very much. And maybe oneday she will wake up and things can be better (like I said they won't be the same after what I've seen and heard from her).

It is 22* outside. The windchill is probably below 10*. I got to go home early today from work and got all nice and cozy in my apartment. Then I had to leave my nice and cozy apartment to walk to class. So I walk 20 minutes from my car to the classroom in the freezing cold weather...to find out class is canceled. Get to take another 20 minutes to walk back to my car - walking INTO the wind this time - to go home.

I am cold. :(

At the clinic...nobody has set hours. The schedule is NEVER the same for anyone from one week to the next. I just don't understand it. Why can't the schedule be the same every week? Granted now it's mostly stable for me because the only time I'm available is all day Friday and every other Saturday, and every 4th Sunday for kennels...but it still seems to vary.
That's always so weird to me. Like... isn't it easier for everyone involved (including the person who has to make the darn schedule) if the schedule just stayed the same?!

I keep getting excited that tomorrow is Friday, and then I remember that I work Saturday too. I hate when that happens lol.

I'm so tired of my family calling my dogs stupid (well, my mom and my brothers, my dad never does this..alas, he is also a dog person). And then when I get upset about it, *I'm* the horrible person, and instead of apologizing, they try to justify it :(

Funny, perfect strangers don't seem to call my dogs stupid. If anything they tend to complement my dogs. It's just my FAMILY that has to insult my dogs and me all the time.

There's a dog that has been shared 1,793 times on FB. He has over $1400 in "pledges." He has 371 comments on his thread begging for someone to adopt him. He also has an evaluation rating of RED and is described as having "severe aggression," "try(ing) to bite," and "not allow handling." Please explain to me why I am a terrible dog killer for saying that he should not be adopted out with that sort of temperament.

Happens all the time. "This is a good dog! He is just scared/needs training/needs a chance". Meanwhile it attacked the evaluator . 9/10 times it's a bully breed. Meanwhile the nice ordinary dog gets PTS while this one is saved.
Can I ask if the dog is at NYCACC?

Yep. He looks like a Pit Bull mix and is at NYCACC. Why do people think that a dangerous dog that looks like a "pit bull" will do anything but hurt the breed's reputation? There are so many Pit Bulls and mixes with stable temperaments out there that are killed every day and people are up in arms about this dog? People are absolutely delusional:
"I no he's an angel inside his heart he just needs one of gods angels to give him the love."
"Bad experiences create aggression and good experiences fix them."
"I never believe all this aggression bit when they are in shelters."
"love will win out over pain and abuse everytime EVERYTIME!"
"People did this to him, kind loving people can fix him."
"I see greatness in those eyes."
"He just wants to be loved."

And here are some lovely responses to my comment saying that while he is cute, he probably shouldn't be adopted out with such an unstable and dangerous temperament:
"be aware of people who hate dogs and do there up most to destroy them!"
"Who made you the decision maker on who should live or die?"
"Christina I think you just stuck the needle in him."
"If jake goes down then we no who is behind it."

 NYCACC is not a good place...but...they also post up every single dog they get in. Owner drops it off to be euth'd, they post it up. This includes sick and aggressive dogs. And then they are vilified for it, where for the most part, dogs like that at other shelters are going out the back. They only offer those dogs to rescue too..so it's not like 'one person' can really fall in love and commit to the dog. The rescue has to take it in and place with a foster.

Which dog is it?
