I just slammed through "Run" by Blake Crouch. I got it for free as a Kindle eBook. I could not put it down and found myself forcing myself to stay awake in order to read it late at night. I got involved with the characters and had the whole heart pounding, adrenaline surge thing going on through most of the book.
My wife doesn't read on a Kindle (she refuses to even try), so I'll be scoring the used book stores for a copy so she can read it.
Until then I'm reading The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson I like it ok. Honestly, there is nothing I can pinpoint I don't like about it I just seem to be having trouble feeling the character and really relating. She feels like a stranger to me. But it's keeping me entertained
I just finished reading Sister of the Sky by Margaret Allen, now I'm working on Eon by Alison Goodman and hoping someone here will have Eona in stock when I'm ready to read it...
Currently reading Goliath by Scott Westerfeld and The Theory and Practice of Hell: The German Concentration Camps and the System Behind Them by Eugen Kogon. The concentration camp book is as horrific as one would expect and very hard to read, but I think it will be worth the discomfort.
I'm reading "Mockingjay." I finally got a hold on The Hunger Games books and I love them! I borrowed them so I have to read them in a reasonable amount of time, but I don't want them to end.
Remember how I said Fifty Shades seemed like a grown-up Twilight (w/hardcore sex)? Turns out that it is indeed fan fiction. I read that in Entertainment Weekly. And now it's going to be a movie! Talk about a big payout for something originally written just for fun and put up on the web as free reading on a Twilight fanfiction site.
(fwiw, I also just learned what "fan fiction" is....lol)
Moving on.....now I'm reading Illusion by Frank Paretti.
I'm nearly finished with my first DW book, "Touched by an Angel." It's a fun, quick read, but plays with the "rules" too much for my taste. Going to try a few others before I give up on them though.
Read Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk (author of fight club), very interesting book and I like the author's writing style! (not for the faint of heart but still a well written interesting novel)
and I always read an old book in between new books (lol no idea why..I just do) so I'm in the process of reading the golden compass! (again haha)
I'm reading The Sot-Weed Factor by John Barth for possibly the millionth time. I absolutely love. this. book. Amazing, every time, and I always die with laughter!
