The Not Dog Related Snapshot Thread

My number was called. So I'm sitting in the waiting room now. When we get called in for our interviews I'm going to tell him School starts next week and I have a CPR class to take this week. Hopefully today will be my only day and I'll be excused from service. I would have called in to be excused but I already postponed jury duty once and you're only allowed 1. /sigh.
I avoided it when I was called up, and I regret it now!!!! Would have been an experience.... 
But, as it turns out there were 4 of us called that were excused for being students. I'm off their list for the next six years, then I become eligible to be called again.
Hannah had her first lesson in 1st grade today I don't have all her books yet but her student math book came in the mail this afternoon so we threw in a math lesson at 4 o clock.
The curriculum is Math U See and the first lesson is about place value. We finished the first page of the first lesson and she was like "UGH I am not good at this, I don't know how to do this... I don't want to do lessons" and I just said that she should think about gymnastics and how she didn't know how to do cartwheels but now after lots of practice she does her cartwheels very well. We then had to take a quick break so I could get the tomato sauce put together and on the stovetop and told her she should bring Minnie out and help her learn what Hannah just learned.
We went back to the lesson and I changed up my tactic a little bit and by the 3rd page she was doing it by herself and super happy about it. Lots of high 5's LOL.
So day 1 was a success
