Yesterday it was 14F outside, and 34F inside. Just outside the house, though, it was 26F. Our lack of insulation basically means we're heating up the outside lol
The last place I lived in KC was like that. It was RIDICULOUS how poorly insulated that place was and then throw in a faulty furnace during the coldest December we'd had in a few years...yeah. I was not a happy camper.

My child ate a piece of pizza!
This sounds mundane, but he only eats like 5 things, ever. This is very exciting, lol

That IS exciting!!
Mine is the same way. I swear if I let him, all he would eat is KD.
He exists on yogurt, peanut butter and the occasional apple (or a bite or two of banana) about 90% of the time. I think he'd like more foods if he'd try them, but getting him to try things is almost impossible.

Officially getting a baby Jungle Carpet Python, and I'm crazy excited. Bringing home this little guy in mid-January!

I'm transferring my 3 cheap prescriptions to Kmart, and I'm getting $75 for it.

My mom also said if I test my outlet by running a space heater up there for a few minutes, as long as it doesn't get hot I can use a space heater when I'm up there! This is like...I have NO idea why she finally came around to the idea. Maybe it was because I told her to make sure to break the ice on the dog's water bowls when she went up to feed them lunch...

I wish I could have gotten away with that when I was young ... Her rule was if you didn't eat what was served then you didn't eat, And I didn't like being hungry ... So I ate it whether I liked it or not.

Well, he's two. And he's gone a full day without eating before (when sickly, etc), which then leads to an already poorly-eating child not sleeping at all because he's hungry. He also often skips lunch at daycare because there's lots of stuff he likes to do so he'll wander away from the table, and he's often up more at night on those days. Currently, I pick my battles, because I like some sleep and a kid who doesn't scream all night

Picking your battles is key for sure

Also, food is something that is so very important for their entire life I will NEVER battle over it (I mean sure a bit here and there now that they are older...we do have guidelines etc and its not a free for all) but will never force my child to eat things. First, I am extremely picky so yeah, I get it. There are many things that make me feel ill to eat...not going to do the same to my kids. Second, know too many people that have/had eating disorders. Will not make food a control issue to have it manifest more strongly as a disorder.

The good news, kids go in and out of weird eating phases all the time:) Go from (yes especially around 2 for many lol) eating nothing to eating all the things, back to nothing etc. Its about balance over time....long term goals in eating

Capping off an amazing day of football: Greg Hardy wearing some incredibly badass sunglasses just announced himself as "Kraken" and then said he went to school at Hogwarts.

AWESOME

Agreed with all this! I know a lot of people underestimate a child's willpower too. "If he gets hungry enough, he'll eat." You'd be surprised...

That's fantastic. I just googled it and busted up laughing.

SNOW DAY TOMORROW!!! It's supposed to be freezing rain/ice all night, so the roads are going to be a mess and school is C.L.O.S.E.D!

2 weeks.

3 (maybe 4) classes.

Until I am FINISHED with school:thumbsupsmileyanim: Then I start my internship!

Plus, there are only 15 days until Christmas and I'm SO excited to give everyone their gifts!!!! :D

(the only thing that would make this day better is if I was laying in my bed instead of at work! haha)

I went snowboarding yesterday for the first time since I jacked up my knee! It was great to get back out on the mountain and my knee felt great. The only issue is I now have a couple mental blocks about carving, because I'm terrified of catching the wrong edge again and ending up back in a brace. Also, scared of going to fast and not having control, so I kept getting stuck in a lot of the speed control areas because I wasn't going fast enough to have enough momentum. :p

I think we're going to hit up Breckenridge on Wednesday, which has some awesome slopes for my skill level.

I am 9 days into gluten free again, and this time I feel like I might actually be able to make it a long-term thing

In the past 9 days I've turned down doughnuts, homemade brownies, and chocolate covered pretzels at work. I made, from scratch, two batches of cookies for a party, and didn't so much as taste the batter. At said party I turned down all the yummy looking snacks. Went out to eat yesterday and made sure to check the menu before I left to see what I could eat, and ate it, even though it would not have been something I would have ordered if I hadn't been looking for GF. And the best part is that it hasn't even been difficult for me, usually I struggle from the word go. So yeah, I feel like this: :banana::banana:

Very true! But keep in mind for some children, it could be a sensory issue. I know of two kids personally who would go days without eating. I dare say a week or until hospitalization or medical intervention. And it's strictly sensory related. Not being a brat. Not being stubborn. But, for others who have no idea about the child(ren) I can see where they'd assume that. ;)

I'd MUCH rather seen the foods posted above (Grab) than junk junk junk.
Have you tried making things out of the food, sometimes encouraged snacking. Like... ants on a log, banana boats, etc? Food for thought  lol that was bad, I know :p

Expecting more snow tonight/tomorrow morning. 2 snow days in a row? Oh DC...

Also, I managed to walk Lucy for the first time in weeks. My sciatic nerve isn't bothering me today, and I successfully made it at least a mile with her around the neighborhood. It felt good :)
