When he told me to restart the router I did with him on the phone. Afterwards I was still having the same issue and he said, "I'm sorry, everything looks like it is working, call your router company" and that was that; no more help. Which was why I was so perturbed. BUT, good to know that there are actual higher ups that can provide additional help should the situation call for it.
I'll tell you why - it's because Comcast won't give you support for routers. They'll only give you support with their modem.
Next time you can try this - unhook the router and run the cable from your modem straight to the computer. If you have internet now, the router is the problem. If you don't, the modem is where the problem is.

That said after I've power cycled my modem and router multiple times and Comcast is STILL down and I call and they're like "power cycle your modem" I'm all like "okay I'm doing it *files nails*"
"How about restarting the computer?"
"Sure let me try that. Okay powering down now *flipping through magazine*"

Comcast sent somebody out here to fix the cable line coming into the house like six times. The first guy came out and was like "the problem is out on the pole coming into the house." So he was a home tech and couldn't fix it, put in a ticket for an outside tech. Two days later another home tech shows up. Uhhh... you can't fix this bro. He puts in another ticket for an outside tech. Two days later... ANOTHER HOME TECH. This one looks in the system and is like "um, yeah, they keep putting in requests for the outside techs and somebody keeps changing it to home tech." It took almost three weeks for them to finally send the right person out.

Another Comcast fave: when the girl was going through her script and told me "your modem should look like this with a orange light." "It's impossible for there to be an orange light." "When it's working correctly it has an orange light." "No, it doesn't. All the bulbs are green. They only glow green." "It should be orange..." "No, it's like a Christmas tree light. The bulbs are all GREEN. They cannot possibly glow another color." "Oh. I've never seen a modem like that." "Yeah, it's quite old." "Okay so when it's working it will have an orange light!!" *facepalm*

I'm pretty sure nobody would believe me if I restarted my computer while on the phone. It takes 7 seconds, I've timed it. Ask CharlieDog :rofl1:

The last of the old plumbing has been removed from my kitchen.
This means we should be good to go running the new plumbing.

Should.

...should.

It took 3/4 of a bag of Stella and Chewy's dehydrated and some nimble clicker-and-trimmer-in-the-same-hand work, but I trimmed ALL of Maisy's nails in one sitting. This from a dog who used to go into a flailing panic at the sight of the trimmer. Very proud of her. :)

I'm so in the mood for Christmas now! LOVE IT. I've been super excited to buy stuff for the house, so I didn't want to spend money on others (so selfish, I know) but today I'm like CHRISTMAS ALL THE THINGS!

But so sad that I can't put up our tree. BOO for moving just weeks before Christmas. :(

It's below freezing outside, so the mud is all frozen! Whoot! No more muddy pawprints all over my tan carpet every time a dog goes out to pee!

My truck started.

Sadly, I'm in it right now in 2 degree weather revving it up.

The rest of the good news is that Middie is with me. Not because I want the company, but because I don't want to be the only one suffering. :p

The heat doesn't work in my apartment and it's 1F outside. What's the good news part? It's still 65F in the apartment and if I turn on all the lights, it gets warmer. Hooray for awesome insulation!

I'm so excited for my job interview. I've never been this excited in my life. I'm not even nervous! And it's perfect!

Just had the best interview ever. Made it through two rounds of cuts and cried in the middle of the interview, causing the main interviewer to tear up. Winning. I feel like a million bucks.

Just ordered some pretty awesome Christmas presents for people who don't know they're getting Christmas presents. And they're pretty awesome, hand made presents...that are awesome. Did I mention they are awesome?

David has a job interview tomorrow for a job in his chosen career feild! Not only is it awesome he'll be doing something he loves, but we really need the money after his current job is being a jerk and cutting his hours so bad.

Yesterday it was 14F outside, and 34F inside. Just outside the house, though, it was 26F. Our lack of insulation basically means we're heating up the outside lol

I got my engagement ring back.

It is now the correct size AND they were able to get my wedding band done, too! (Mike had it customized...we weren't sure we were going to get it in time for the wedding, but we are! My mom is holding it hostage until he is back in town, as she doesn't want me to see it.)

Happy day!!!
