I've microchipped a bunch of dogs/puppies and cats/kittens with no real melt downs! I can think of one SERIOUS objection from a pissed off cat at the clinic last week, but he survived his 2 second trauma. :)
Ok, that really helps to know. I'm just gonna have to look away so I don't fall over.

I firmly believe they're worth the small amount of pain and invaluable if your dog gets lost or stolen... but the neeeeeedle is so biiiiiig. :lol-sign:

All my dogs were chipped standing and no one protested. Rage was done with no one holding, I just brought her to work and did it.

Abrams was chipped while awake as a little tiny baby puppy. He didn't care, but he had food in his face, so I think a bomb could have gone off and he wouldn't have noticed.

Cynder was also chipped while awake, and she screamed more for the vaccines than she did for the chip. But she is a drama queen and likes to scream for pokes when Michael isn't around for her to put a brave face on for.

I booked an appointment to see if a new doctor will take me on as a patient. It's a male doctor, but at this point beggars can't be choosers. Fingers crossed.

I chipped baby Dexter today while he was awake, with a few little whines and some squirm... But he's a huge baby and was screaming like a banshee when the techs were intubating him today. *insert eye roll*

The needles always make me nervous but I've chipped a few dozen puppies in the past too and none seem to have a big problem with it.

A lot of our dogs we chip don't have an issue, most of the cats either. Though every now and then we got a dog or kitten that strongly objects to the whole process.

OTOH Microchipping skeeves me out! HEEBIES JEEBIES. So glad when unfixed animals come in and we can just get it done when they're under lol.

Haha, if it soothes your further one of my coworkers was nearly microchipped. The gal chipping pushed right through the other side of the skin on a cat and stabbed her in the hand. She said for how big the needle was she didn't really feel any thing!

The first few times I did it it made my skin crawl but after a while of a vast majority of dogs/cats not reacting it got easier. To get AAHA certified I had to do my VERY first one in front of a vet to sign off and I gagged when I put the needle in.

Actually, that does soothe me further - well the top part. The bottom makes me laugh.

I actually do feel a lot less apprehensive. I'll definitely have it done when she's in for rabies.

I hate microchipping animals, whether they're awake or anesthetized. Wish I could shut my eyes during it. :p

They don't usually react much to it and I can't understand why lol. Completely sends shivers down my spine.

A coworker of mine came over to study with me tonight. We are becoming pretty close. She's a super awesome and fun person who is fabulous to be around. I really enjoy her company and it's nice. :) Yay for making new friends!

Ran into an old friend today. I was in the gas station and he was the cashier. I was having issues with my card so he covered me. Super nice and we caught up on Facebook. Haven't seen him in years and looking forward to drinks to pay him back!

Some really, really great news from over the weekend.

1) I found my SB600 external flash and my two memory cards. Hadn't been able to find the former for months and thought I'd lost them both! Turns out everything was where they should have been - I just didn't think of it at the time.

2) I'm getting a car!! A friend got in an accident (he's fine) and the car suffered some rear damage. I spoke to a family friend about fixing it, and the friend/owner of the car told me I could have it after it's been repaired. It's a relatively new car so it was incredibly generous of him and his family.
