This fall we got an email from them saying,"Oh, our bad, we've been taking too much so we'll be sending you a $600 check and your monthly payments will decrease by $200." Then yesterday my boss called me into his office and slid a post it note across his desk and said, "You've been doing a great job, we don't know what we would do without you, so here is an 8% raise."
That's awesome! :D

Yaaay!

Sold some stuff today, woohoo. Also decided we're taking a third cat with us... as a Christmas present, so thankfully not on our dime!

All is going well in my world for once. I'm actually happy.

And happy means i get a little more artistic :)

It's not that good but I haven't sketched anything since junior high school until the other night.

Lazy rainy day. Drinking pumpkin spice tea out of my special Harry Potter mug, while working on adding things to my happiness journal.

And reliving high school by listening to Dashboard Confessional lol.

Money is a bit tight this pay period for us. We have a week and two days until next paycheck (not counting my paycheck from work but that ALL goes into the Disney fund lol). There was a charge in my bank account that shouldn't have been there... called the company and it's been refunded but it's going to take a few days so I'm like... down to a few bucks. Just a lot of unexpected output.

All the way home from church today I just kept telling myself "God provides... God will provide... God will bring us through" Now of course this isn't like we won't be able to eat until next paycheck... I have a large stash of food lol but money for incidentals makes me more comfortable.

Got home and checked my email. 10 minutes earlier and email came in from someone on etsy wanting 25 of my starfish ornaments for her wedding :D:D:D:D I gave her a discount since she wants a whole bunch but that's still $225 :D That's MORE than enough to get us through until next paycheck. Praise the Lord

Sent an e-mail campaign out Thursday right before I left for agility. Didn't really think much about it all weekend except wondering idly how it did.

Got to work this morning to discover it got us a LARGE handful of sales and potentially saved the week.

Yay me!
And for this I will get... nothing.

Thise both sound amazing! Feel like sharing the recipes? :)
I kind of made them up. I browsed a few recipes and chose the best elements of each one haha

Here's a rough guide for the soups.

Curried butternut squash soup
1/2 white onion, diced
4 cups chicken stock
1 butternut squash, peeled and cubed (1 inch)
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tbsp curry powder
ground pepper and salt to taste

- melt butter in soup pot, add diced onions and cook until translucent
- add chicken stock and squash, liquid should barely cover the squash
- simmer until squash is cooked through
- purée with hand blender or tranfer to blender
- add curry powder and season to taste
- if you find it too thick, add more chicken stock

Broccoli cheddar soup
1 small-medium broccoli, chopped (stems included)
1/4 white oniom, diced
1/2 to 1 clove garlic, diced
3 cups chicken stock
1 cup (or more) cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup milk
3 tbsp butter
1/2 cup flour
Salt and pepper to taste

- combine stock, broccoli, onion and garlic in soup pot, bring to boil and cook until broccoli is tender
- blend to desired smoothness, I like it a bit chunky
- in small sauce pan, melt butter and whisk in flour a bit at a time until you make a rue
- cook rue and slowly add milk until it becomes a thick paste
- add a bit of the paste at a time to the broccoli mixture until you reach your desired thickness
- add cheese
- season to taste

Smiley particularly enjoyed clean up as he got to be the prewash cycle for the pots ;)

This morning I recevied an invitation to the AKC National Owner-Handled Series Finals! Then I got an email retracting the invitation, since it wasn't supposed to go out until the end of October >.> But Logan's in the top 10, so unless several dogs get lots of point in the next 2 days, he qualifies anyway.

I can't go, though, because it's too expensive. Airfare, car rental, hotel, entry fee, clothes, food...:( But at least he qualified! :D

Also, I now have over 500 lifetime volunteer hours at the zoo :p
