I love both of those books! (and clickers, of course!)

Hope that the long line helps you exercise the foster and maybe not hate him as much! XD
It does help. And I feel bad because I actually like Bena, it's the rescue that I have such a hard time with. Bena isn't house broken and I'm obviously failing at that. But it's extremely frustrated dealing with the rescue and THAT is the big issue. She's a very loving dog and I hope she finds a place that needs her. We're not going to foster for a while, at least, after her. I think we're a one dog household. SO has figured out he's a cat person. :yikes:

And Bena did run on the long line! We ran around the lot and then she wandered for a while. She was pretty tired and she curled up in bed between SO and I. I used her butt as a pillow.

If things don't work out with an ES puppy next I might just bite the bullet and get a BC. Just when my BC-want dies down a bit, I meet one and it's reignited. I'm on the list for an ES puppy from a bitch/breeder I like way too much to back out of, but just in case things don't work out I would be so happy with a BC. My mom said the other day I should get one, lol.

I want another GSD too, ugh! If only I didn't just want 2 dogs.

Easy fix. Send Quinn to me and then get a BC and a GSD. ;)

I definitely was convinced that I only wanted two dogs for a long time, and then three just had to happen and I love it :) Though I think my group works really well for me because all three as SO different from each other, they fill very different niches. I don't even want to admit it to myself but I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up with 4 at some point.....

I'm hopeless.

Oooh get a boy bc so Feist can have multiple husbands. Or she can have an ES husband, we aren't picky. :)

Black collar puppy is calling your name, though!! LOL But mostly I want you to get another English Shepherd because I have mad ES want.

Also, Trent and I have already called dibs on Quinn :p So she can totally come live with us.

My trainer has let me run her BC some and he's a lot of fun. She really seem to be trying to pull me that direction lol.

If my plan doesn't work out I will likely get a BC. But part of me enjoys being the only person in the club with my breed. Everyone has a BC. I know that's a lame reason but...

On the other hand BCs are fun as heck.

I personally like the "novelty" of owning a rarer breed. Everybody and their brother has a BC or Aussie in herderdog land... I like having ACD's partially for that reason. Obviously the breed itself fits me like a glove and there are things about BC's and Aussies that turned me off.

Just out of curiosity, what breeds are you looking at?

Both dogs are actually asleep, yay! :p

It's kinda funny, in agility I see nothing but BC's but, here at least, whenever I go to disc dog comp's it's full of ACD's! And I can see why when they play, man are those dogs springy!

Apparently at work this morning, a dog was brought in that was trapped in a house fire. He was crated while the owners were at work. The dog managed to bust out of the wire crate and went to the front door, and if it hadn't been for that the firefighters didn't even know he was in there. The dog was pretty okay aside from a laceration, presumably from his crate escape.

It just kind of scares the crap out of me. You crate them for their safety, who would expect that to happen.... what if he wasn't able to get out of it? Ugh.

But that would mess up my plan! LOL, I need at least one ES :p

FWIW, I am totally the same. I like having an uncommon breed! Surprise surprise, with an ES and a Koolie LOL.

LOL I have a feeling that I'll probably follow the same path!
Love your pack, they go together so nicely!

Oooh get a boy bc so Feist can have multiple husbands. Or she can have an ES husband, we aren't picky. :)
Oh Feist! Just don't replace Neddy!

Oh man he is SO cute.

You definitely have dibs on Quinn! AND the good thing about me getting another ES is that hopefully we can meet up, if you're at home at the time!

I think about this all the time! And then I try not to think about it because the idea of something like that happening is so upsetting- and I doubt my dogs could bust out of their crates. So unfortunate to have a house fire, but they're lucky their dog is okay.

ughhhh he IS, and what's worse is that you have me back looking at breeder websites and litters and chatting to other people about their dogs and about breeders out there. Why do all of our conversations lead to "MUST HAVE AN ES/GSD PUPPY NOW"? ;)

And excellent!!! Because in the event that you spontaneously combust, I would be dropping everything to fly out and retrieve Quinn. Because mine. All the wants. I'd LOVE to meet up with you, though! It doesn't matter if I'm away at school - I'll catch a ride back just to meet. I actually have an on/off part time job just 30 minutes away from the breeder!!

PS: speaking of Feist and her dog husbands, I think Trent totally brags to all the other dogs that Quinn's his girlfriend.

Summer peed on Mia's head at the park yesterday afternoon. How does that happen? I turned around and Summer has her leg hiked on Mia's head. Called Mia over and sure enough there's drops of pee on her head.

Gross dogs.

Yeah ask me sometime how well that two-dog plan worked out for me *grin*

But part of me enjoys being the only person in the club with my breed. Everyone has a BC. I know that's a lame reason but...
It's not really any more arbitrary than preferring a certain coat color, etc. Your first priority is finding a dog who is a good match and with whom you'll be happy, so who cares if the reason is something some would find frivolous?

Or you could just move here, where Aussies and Shelties match or outnumber BCs, and Papillons are everywhere ;)

Yeahhhhh I only wanted 2 dogs, too. :p

I actually don't mind 4, but I do wish they were a bit further apart in age...

Laurelin, I'm not sure Paps are actually the odd dogs out in agility anymore! Ppas& Border Terriers seem to be the go-to small dog breeds around here. Border Collies still outnumber them ..but in their height category, they are the most common! Maybe that helps your BC want?

Or, you could go my route.. get a different herder but a herder nonetheless?
