Ha I went and poked around that group and I would bet that whoever runs it either has a puppy mill or knows someone who does. Half the crap they say makes no sense whatsoever otherwise.

Got moved up in the agility seminar from beginner Monday to mediocre Friday.. based on the hopes of me having a more focused, less stressed Vizsla by the end of September. Lol. Funny.

I've suspected that too. I'm really tempted to say something to them.

One of the admins has said on numerous occasions that she has friends that are "commercial breeders", so yeah.

That thread brought out some Bedlington breeder that straight up said she hates having to interact with pet buyers and would gladly turn her pet puppies over to someone else (specifically a pet store that screens owners) to find homes for them. That to me says that she doesn't give a **** about the DOGS she produces, only the game - competing/winning/breeding. So gross.

Good lord, I read their page for about 8 minutes, and I think my IQ dropped.

I love responsible dog breeders, too. The problem is, only about 50% of the breeders posting seem like I'd even begin to consider them responsible.

God what a site.... I like how their automatic response to the fact that someone had a dog with issues or a bad experience with a breeder means the breeder is obviously not responsible. Right. Because your every day dog owner who is duped by the right things on a website or said by the breeder is obviously at fault that the breeder was such an ass.

And because a dog with issues never happens to a good breeder. Ever.

Cajun took to lure coursing like... breathing. She was so awesome and had so much fun! She was one of the crazy dogs barking and screaming and circling and trying to climb the fence when it was her turn. Once again, I love having a dog who loves these activities! :p

Also I always feel like the mean person in class because I am just focused on MY dog and don't really care to talk with anyone else or fawn over other dogs. Ooops. I kind of really actively stay away from people but don't actually realize I'm doing it most of the time lol.

I'm going on Sunday to look at a puppy that might be our new addition to the family. The breeder has been watching him as a possible SD prospect for me. I'm a little nervous, but I will bring my camera with me.

Can't wait to see pictures! :D

I bought Rigby's eyedrops today. Good little dog didn't even flinch when I put them in.

I ordered a little balance disc to try and do some more work with Payton. It got here yesterday but I didn't have time to train with it. We did our first session this evening before dinner and I wasn't sure if maybe I ordered a disc that is too small for him to fit on right now - like maybe I would need to order a second, larger disc and work on that, then switch to the smaller disc. He was having a really hard time with it. He is slightly long in the back so I just wasn't sure if it would work.

Well, we did a second session after dinner, and my big smart boy got all four feet on. Tried to sit the first few times and after I clicked for his butt moving up got the idea I wanted him to stand, so he did.

He is such a good boy.

Dog sitting an Australian Shepherd (+ Chihuahua & 4 cats) this week.

Wow what a change from a Lab! ;)
Welcome to hell.

I love my dumb dog. She's just so damned good (most of the time). I was out for a walk at a park we go to pretty often. I draped the leash over a bench and away we went. The grass was wet and my shoes were getting soaked so I didn't much feel like walking back over to the bench on my way out. I asked Cohen to go get her leash and, well, she did. :)

She doesn't really have a cue to go get her leash. I also often do some high jump practice over this bench at the ends of our walks. So I wasn't too sure what she'd do when I asked her to go grab it, but sure enough off she trotted, picked it up and returned it to hand.

Rigby, I'm glad that you're feeling better from this morning's incident in which you were bowled over by a rampant ball-seeking Border Collie. (I'm also sorry that I laughed at your expense)

BUT you still have pink eye. So no, I don't want your crusty gooey face near mine. You're gross. Go lie down.
