Up til now I've always had to crate Onyx when I'm sweeping (which is a daily occurrence round these parts) because she thinks the broom is ZOMG best toy EVAR!!!

Today she just chilled out on the couch and watched me sweep! Is puppy growing up!?

Take a nice 'right before bed' park trip.... dog first falls into lake, then proceeds to roll on something questionable, and then poops on herself.

Isn't that how it always goes?

How do I go about finding a good health testing Boston Breeder in the PNW who may have adults available in two years? Ow why do you ask the PNW and why 2 years , cause I have friends to visit and need time to save and plan an epic family trip. Ow and I want some non standard colors and am weighing the evils of going with a health testing breeder who breeds off colors.

The family has finally came to an agreement I can live with . Bostons.

After it's clear that I'm ignoring you and trying to get my dog to ignore you, why are you still making kissy sounds and trying to get my dog's attention??
You're an adult! If you want to say hi to my dog, ****ing ASK! I'll say yes!!

I ordered one of those Train N Praise treat dispensers. Kind of excited for it...I always thought it would be useful, but there are some things I really want to try with it the more I think about it.

My puppy fever has come down a little bit since I've decided to set a tentative puppy date for 2016.

Cameron will be 8 and Duncan will be 5 or 6- neither will be too old for a puppy. Plus, I should have a job-job or in grad school, and if for whatever reason I can't make it work- well, I'll just have to hold off a little while longer.

My life feels less out of control now that I'm thinking 2016 = puppy, LOL.

Couldn't resist buying the puppy a custom tag...it's for her turning 1 week tomorrow lol. Etsy, it's a problem. I really am normally frugal. But I got hit with a case of SHE MUST HAVE ONE. And omg trying to find puppy kindergarten on Monday nights that isn't an hour away...impossible.

Tell me how it works out! I've been thinking about trying a remote treater like the Manners Minder. I want something that can be mounted behind the dog crates where the dogs can't reach it, but will hopefully drop the treat into their crates.

Abrams has started to woof at people who come up to the door, or are in weird places outside. My baby puppy is growing up! So far he has woofed in perfectly acceptable situations and is more than happy to investigate and say "HI! I am your new best friend!!!!!" when I let him know everything is okay. Very proud of him. He is so not aggressive in any way (which is PERFECT), and it is nice to have him start to grow into his watch-dog panties, since that was one of the reasons I wanted a Chessie. ^^

Very happy that I have accidentally taught Cameron to drop things.

Usually when she has something she shouldn't I don't have anything of high value like food to give her, so I started saying "let's make a trade" and running into the kitchen to grab some hotdog.

The past few times I've only had to say "let's make a trade" and she will drop whatever she has and look at me expectantly.

YES!!!

Last night I dreamed that I bought a shih-tzu of all breeds! The puppy was grey and white, and I was very pleased with her.

Weird.
Whenever I have dog related dreams I always end up with random breeds I've never even looked into at all- like huskies and pit bulls. I have no idea why.

I am so glad that I brought home a puppy when I did. Henry has been amazing with Rhys. Henry is an experienced puppy raiser, and I am in awe of the interaction between the two of them and all the things I can see Henry teaching him.

I'm so proud of Squash. He traveled really well and he was really good with all the other dogs at the meet up. I'm always slightly skittish about him in groups just because he's so big, but once again he proves he's just a big mush.
