Too cute not to share, at least for this Nana. It's not the toys she wants, its the dogs. happy dance in my heart, I hope in the future they bring her as much joy as they have brought me all of my life. IT's early in the am and she is ready for walking.

Both brother and sister are stinking cute

what she looks like without the binky and a little bit more time to wake up

THe is our last week and they go home. Then Jory is coming to stay for a week. I am glad he is coming when they are not here, I want Jory time to be special Jory time. Then school will start. Yipeee. 8 delicious quiet hours, yet, I will miss them all at the same time.
In a few more months they will have a new sibling. I keep trying to picture this in my mind. THere is room for one more on this bench. WE had a really nice day to day.

THank you LInda. WE had a wonderful experience all summer long, and now it is over. And back to normal Grandmother visits, not every day. It was inspirational and exhausting all at the same time. Baylee is a very careful baby, she does not warm up to people quickly and I am glad that I have gone from that strange woman brother likes, to Nana's really ok. Not Mama, but my stock has definably gone up with her.I didn't think Aiden and I could be any closer, but we are more than ever. He calls me Big Honey. I call him Big Honey. We draw on the little trampoline with our heads together and that right there makes my heart happy dance. Mama and Daddy are moving to a new house and now AIden is going to "help pack". Now I find my desk, and put away toys, and paper, and puzzles and more. Jory arrives tonight to stay but he will not be near the physical work that the babies were. I am looking forward to his coming, he should be here any minute.

Isn't being a grandmother so wonderful. I looked at my granddaughter and fell in love with her at first sight. When I walk into a room she gives me a huge smile and I melt. I also am so filled with awe when I see how much my son loves his daughter and the bond they have. Here is my tattooed mechanic son who changes her diapers, gives her baths, reads to her and listens to metallica baby songs with her. He rushes home from work to see her everyday and showers her with kisses.
Your grandchildren are beautiful and I bet you feel that special bond that only grandparents can have.

We are blessed to be sure. I told Rachel, the Mama, that i didn't know which warmed my heart more, watching Baby Baylee wiggle her head to the music, or watching her Daddy watching her wiggling his head just like she was. We raise good sons. Mine too does his share of house chores as well as working long hard hours. THis summer was about giving the a boost financially with watching these two while they raised enough money to get off of the third story apt. THey are now in a lovely little house on a lot of land. WHen I saw it, I thought enough food could be grown there to feed the whole show. IT's a good spot and I am happy for them. Grandchildren wear me out, but the fill my heart and that makes it all worth while. Plus I get to share all that I have learned and pass down what was taught to me by my own grandparents. Now we are off to find something fun for Jory to do while he is having his summer visit. He is 8 yrs old. WE were hoping for the outside pool but it's going to rain so the art museum (the NELSON) might be a better choice. We road the Northland Train yesterday. Not surprised to see just how many grandparents were there as well.

THey were a little worried about that dark tunnel coming up but they sure changed their minds after they went through. Fortunately there are a lot of free fun things to do in Kansas City. That and my Ymca membership makes for not a bad vacation in general.

Only 50 cents a ride, and it goes through a tunnel too. Ok, it's not worlds of fun..but we had a good time anyway. For 5 dollars they got to ride around 3 times. We had to laugh because the family that Hyia loves to be with, her best friend, were there with their Grandmother so she road with their youngest little girl.

A few things I have learned..for Grandsons Nana must have
A large jar of good pickles
Good popcorn always available
Crunchy apples, and tangerines preferably cuties
A large selection of hotwheels
Never ending blocks, wooden prefered, but odd wood cut ends and such are nice additions
Never ending crayons and Paper
Never run out of bubbles.
Puzzles
Good ice (not the hard cubes, preferably a Sonic bag) in the freezer
Water of one form or the other .WE have the Y for the big kids, and the little pool for the babies when we cannot go.
Always a book to take home.
Always interesting books to look at here.
A dress up box for Halloween.
Playdough
I could go on for hours, but two other things I know are very important
Photos UP and drawings UP in a place of pride where all can see.
Hats. Preferably lots of strange and wonderful ones.
See...it's never ending. But this much i have learned from the little people who teach me. Dirt..seeds..and a swing. Marbles. No wonder they like to come here. :p oh and chalk..you can not get by without a spring set to get you through the summer. We use a lot of chalk.

I like your list. My granddaughter is only 8 months old, I am looking forward to doing so many things with her. I love when she plays with her musical toys and looks at grammy when the music plays because she knows I will be doing some silly dance she can laugh at.

Aiden & Baylee look so adorable. I love the pic of them looking through the fence and the one sitting on the cement bench.

I know how hectic this summer was for you, but I know you will always cherish this special time you had with both of them.

I'm glad to hear Aaron & family have a home. Wow, a place to put in a garden. I know you can show the grandkids how to grow even more veggies for them and for you!

Linda i swear it goes even faster the second time around. You think you blinked and your baby became an adult but wow, second generation is warp speed.

I wasn't around Baylee like I was Aiden her early months. Seemed one day she was an infant, then she was scooting across the floor faster than a bug, turn around and voila, not just walking but climbing. Good grief how the girl climbs and gets stuck in stuff, she is her Daddy's daughter and there is no doubt about that. I hope you get to spend tons and tons of time with your baby grand girl. I don't remember one grandmother at all, and the other have very few memories of, even tho both have a great deal to do with who i am, and what I look like. I can't begin to put into words how important GG has been to my children and am very grateful she was able to spend time with them. She was a Godsend while I was going to college, and working. Being a single parent I don't think I ever would have made it without her.
