lol, i saw that one too...according to those people, they steam cleaned their carpets everyday (so at LEAST they werent letting it sit there)

i was totally shocked that he was willing to buy (ok, not personally buy it for them, but you know what i mean) them a brand new fence and brand new carpeting...but not pay for TRAINING LESSONS!!?? hello!??? i was like WHAT ON EARTH?? you could tell by the woman's response that there was NO way her dogs were gonna stay outside, lol...she was sooo lying. c'mon...pay for obedience school, and have a personal trainer come in and housebreak the dogs since those people obviously cant do it for themselves...

Obedience school is relatively cheap when compared to chainlink fencing and new carpets. Also you can easily get OB programs for your dog that works well.

Im using the Richard Wolters Waterdog to train my boy and thus far he's doing great. Obvisously this goes beyond basic OB, but when we finish this program up this spring I will have a well-rounded companion and hunting dog.

And whoever compared their human child to a dog has a flawed comparison. The two are completely different -again this is animal welfare we are dealing with here, not animal rights. Yes, granted I love my dog, but not the same as I love my child. Dogs will go where convenient because they are dogs, the key is either training them to go outside or to put them outside altogether, but either way you need to clean the poop up. Dogs are not human, thus we cannot expect human things from them. Also to put up a fence and to throw your child out in the backyard because he poops in the floor would get you in trouble with DHS/DoH/DCF. The key here is to potty train your kid.

Again, animal WELFARE. As long as the dog is properly cared for, feed, watered, vaccinated, cleaned, kennel is cleaned, has a sturdy doghouse, and is kept in a reasonably sized confinement, and let out daily for excercise, I dont have a problem with keeping a dog outside. (UNLESS extreme cold warrants him into the garage)
