I am sure you guys are getting tired of the horses by now!

It was absolutely beautiful today, so I took the good weather as a chance to work with the wild mustangs a bit. The ground was still not great for riding, so I just lunged the two(Charlie got to enjoy the day out to pasture as it was his turn).

I ended up taking Taylor down to the arena, and lunging her down there. She handled it great. Called a little on the way back, but she definitely does not suffer from seperation issues.

I started all the horses back on Omega Horseshine, it should be in their systems more then long enough before they shed their coats for summer.

    Here is Miss Taylor.

I went ahead and saddle Tex up to be lunged.

He stood like a good boy, and had no issues with it. He did kick out on the lunge line, but I would expect that out of a 2 1/2 year old who hasn't done anything since November!

    Taylor is actually an Appaloosa:

    Tattle Taylor

She has a lot of QH breeding in her though, and she looks all QH to me!

And the baby is a QH:

That's a winter coat? o_O All the horses up here look like musk oxen with all the hair they have! :rofl1:

I love Taylor's movement though and Texas has the coolest blaze; it's been a long time since I've seen a blaze stay that white all the way down the lip.

Texas' blaze is beautiful....I agree with Zoom.
I didn't know it was possible to have an appy without the blanket ??? At least I'm not the only one that thinks she's quarter horse-y. They're pretty.

Hehe, I agree...they don't have much of a winter coat this year! I have a feeling it has to do with two things...one, it was unusually hot this winter(and no snow for quite awhile), and two, the horses are all blanketed!

I have always loved Texas's facial markings too. It does break in the middle, but I love that it goes down the front of his nose too. The only thing I need to do is completely pull his mane, he looks quite funny with it right now! He is a cool guy, and is going to make a fantastic performance horse.

    Thank you!

That is why I loved her so much...I was not looking for an Appy(I normally don't like their markings), but when I found her...I couldn't pass her up, especially because she was 'un-characteristic';). She was DNA verified as a foal, so she was able to still show and do everything in the breed club. Her two babies have both been solids as well.

Here is her three year old out of Zip'n To Paradise:

and the filly's very appy daddy:

Seems she just doesn't have a whole lot of color to her!
