they need to stack the two "crimes" together and let a jury decide which should be tried. I bet animal cruelty would win hands down. I cannot see why this is in court to begin with. I wish her the very best of luck and the person that did this to doogy i wish they spend all eternity chained to a post with no one to care. That would be the only proper justice imo.

But I would hope your love of dogs would trump your wariness over someone telling you how to confine your dogs.
It's because of my love for dogs that I am wary of a "nobody" telling me how to contain them! Tammy is NOT a VET, she is NOT an Animal Behaviorist nor has she spent years clinically studying containment methods. Her whole premise is based upon HER personal views and is not based on any scientific principles. Of course I'm worried about laymen pushing their agendas. They don't think beyond their "position" and have no regard for factual data.

The whole anti tethering issue is based upon emotional reactions to a perceived problem, not fact. The majority of people who tether their dogs do so humanely, but they are never included in the equation. The whole "Let's punish everyone so as to catch the "few" who abuse," school of thought just does not work for me.

the number one thing still has to be the welfare of the dog....that supersedes private property rights and the failure of bureaucracy.
So your saying that it's ok for anyone to ignore your privacy/property rights as long as they "believe" their cause is just? :yikes: So it's ok for Joe Blow up the street to search your property/house because he "thinks" you "might" be doing something wrong?

That's giving society more power than police have!

It should be the ACs head...agreed but in the mean time someone had to do something for that poor dog. If you ignore wrong doing then you are complicit.

And this is why we can't ignore the fact that what Tammy did was wrong.

Theft is wrong, trespassing is wrong, vigilantism is wrong, extremists are wrong. Does the fact that Tammy "might" have given Jake a few more days of life than what he might have had where he was MAKE her wrongs right?

At least in a jury trial Jake's owners would have an opportunity to present their side.

It was in court because a law was broken and the results were as they should have been. You break the law you pay the price.

the person that did this to doogy i wish they spend all eternity chained to a post with no one to care. That would be the only proper justice imo
Comments such as this only reinforce my views against Tammy and her kind. Dramatic, based on assumptions, and more anti human than pro animal.

I have a question.. a sincere one..

If Tammy is so deadset on anti-tethering and rescuing why didnt she "save" both of the dogs?? why save one and not the other..

Since this pic tells the whole story, looks to me like both are on chains

I think it's because Doogie/Jake was the one that needed immediate attention, whereas the other dog seemed to be in decent condition. Doogie/Jake was the only concern, there was no need to confiscate the other dog.

yeah but still.. since she is so anti-tethering and blahh blahh blahh.. then she should've rescued both it doesnt matter what the other one looked like (according to DDB anyway)

Then that would have been justifying everything negative that some are saying about her here. That she'll just go into a backyard and kidnap a perfectly healthy dog, just because it's tethered. Obviously, that's not her style.

You talk about vigilantes and extremists and that is all fine and good but all I care about is the obvious case where a dog needed help. You can protect your tethering rights latter, I just want the dog saved now.

Why didn't she save the other dog? He didn't need emergency help.........

All i gotta say about Tammy Grimes is 1) She is **** lucky she didnt try and mess with my dogs because she would be in alot more legal trouble because I would have her in court for anything and everything I could. And 2) THANK GOD she never saw Booger because she woulda tried to steal her most likely and once i woulda found out who it was you bet there would be SERIOUS REPROCUSSIONS for taking my extremely sick dog who by the way could not have really been "fixed" and was far from abused and neglected. But because she had a medical condition that made her lose function in her back half of her body Tammy Grimes woulda felt it was her "duty" to steal my poor neglected and abused dog  That once it was clear she no longer could live a painfree life she crossed over to rainbow Bridge. But because until then she was a happy painfree dog yes we kept her alive with or without functioning back legs.

You do not know Jakes story from his owners none of us do but 18 years for a large dog is amazing and shows that he has had great care. Maybe like Booger he had a medical issue is that so hard to believe and that they loved him and he was living painfree. There are many factors to consider here. And until I get the whole story I will just be glad that Tammy Grimes does not live near me and that she is being tried for breaking the law.

Well then that just defeats anti - tethering purpose doesnt it..

especially like you said... she knew the difference between a healthy dog on a chain and one that isnt..
