Yeah the pain is definitely in the neck and on the left side of her head. She's doing a bit better right now although that could just be the pain medication taking hold. She ran after the bunny again. She's not fully extending and she's hesitating some still when she wants pets. She will cower a bit and she has yelped a couple more times. I guess we just wait. I'm horrible at this kind of stuff.

Chiropractor? I forget, do you have one there? Auggie came up walking crooked a couple years back holding his head funny, I could tell he had wrenched something in his neck. He was not nearly as dramatic about it but given this is Auggie he wouldn't be. Chiropractor fixed him right up! Might be worth a shot rather than just a total wait and see depending on how long they want to wait...

oh poor Summer--glad to see it isn't something too serious--even if she is a drama queen!

Yeah I've been thinking about trying to get her a chiro appointment. I haven't ever done one but I know vet offices that do them. My trainer's chiro though is 2 hours away. Highly recommended but that's a long ways and a lot of work to miss. There's one other about 40 mins away though that is the sports vet I've been to/a lot of people go to. I believe she does chiro, I'd have to double check.

She's still being quiet/lazy but she's relaxing and resting, so that's good. Whenever I got home, she was barking like usual and trying to jump. Idiot Dog.

Her muscle relaxers say 1/8th a tablet every 12-24 hours. I'm not sure... should I give one at the 12 hour mark at first?

I'd do every 12 hours if she's still seeming ouchy.

Well this morning she was wanting to snuggle, which is improvement. She's still not being her active self, which I guess is good but I don't like having a sad acting Summer. Of course on the other hand she wants to be on the back of the couch and stuff like usual.

She doesn't want to eat the canned food, even if I hand feed it to her but she will eat her Ziwipeak training treats. However, you can still tell she's not herself with those because usually I pull them out and Summer is crazy acting. Now she just stands there wagging her tail.

How much improvement should I be looking at on a day to day basis? She is improved from yesterday morning's just sitting there shaking. I just want assurance it's not more serious.

    Dogs are too stressful sometimes.

Little improvement is good, but if she isn't more herself by tomorrow, I'd take her back to the vet. Poor girl.

Well last night/this morning she seems pretty close to 100% better. Thankfully.

Well now Summer is acting pukey again. She's thrown up this morning and afternoon several times. I'm pretty sure this has nothing related to her neck though.

The bad part is she's acting hesitant about everything again. I can't tell if it's because her tummy hurts or because her neck hurts....

    I miss my happy Summer.

Victor did something similar trying to keep up with two pharoh hounds at the dog park. He reacted very similar with the shaking and it ended up being muscle. Hope the puking subsides and is nothing serious.

She hasn't puked in 24 hours but still isn't herself. Lack of appetite, somewhat subdued, etc.
