Deputy was diagnosed with CCD in Dec and since then has had several behavioral changes. One of them is marking in the house. Vet has checked for UTI and kidney issues, everything is normal. He does not do it every day and he is still asking to go outside. He has not had a bowel movement in the house yet.

One thing that I can't tell if its related to or not, is his increased marking/smelling when I used to take him for walks off the property. He could not go ten feet without sniffing and marking, no matter if we had just passed the spot. Do you think he could be feeling lost in the house and wants to leave a "scent trail" so to speak? Vet found no issues with his eyes.

He also forgets what door he is supposed to go out of, but will follow the others out of the "correct" one.

I did find this when I looked up info on CCD:

While some decline in mental function is expected in aging pets, some dogs seem more affected than others. Common symptoms of CCD can include disorientation, changes in your dog’s interaction with family members and other pets, changes in sleeping habits, and increased bathroom accidents. The most common complaints of family members whose dogs suffer from CCD are that the pooch wanders at night and forgets her housetraining. - See more at: http://www.pethealthnetwork.com/dog-health/cognitive-dysfunction-dogs#sthash.Kv3Deo8r.dpuf
