Does anyone here hunt squirrels with a dog? What kind of dog do you use to hunt squirrels?
great uncle hunts squirrels with a couple curs
I have hunted with squirrel dogs and most were curs or feists.
I had a grandfather who hunted squirrels with his beagle....but I think it was just a companionship thing. I don't know how much his beagle added to the hunt but they enjoyed themselves
Victor would gladly hunt squirrels if i was willing. Which i am not. Which disapoints him.
Zoe loves to chase squirrels, but she's never caught one. Thank God!
Victor likes to stand in the yard so still..until all forget he is there. He has caught one,,,,and way to close toooo many times. WHen we play laser squirrel with the pointer you can have him climb trees..if he can leap up and get his front feet around the limb he can get the rest of him up there. But he could have been as easly trained to hold his point.I just don't hunt. I don't know if i could eat a squirrel..if i was hungry enough i guess.
Benji would like to hunt them, if we had any around us. In this new neighborhood, I haven't seen one squirrel. We do have plenty of bunnies though.
I'd think any cur, fiest or treeing hound would do the job.
Marlowe would like to please apply for the job of squirrel-hunting dog.
so would Walker and PAtches houndlove LOL. The worst part is Patches is a freaking saint bernard LOL
My dachshunds always chase after squirrels, but they outsmart them. I would never purposely make my dogs hunt an animal though.
