Well today was the day that Maxine had her stitches removed. Its been a long 10 days but our bond is probably stronger now then every before.

Day one
I brought Maxine into the local vet(Telluride Veterinary clinic) They seem excellent( and do the spay for free since she was a shelter dog). I dropped her off at 845a. I received a phone call at noon telling me that everything was good and that I could pick her up at 3p. I was of course very excited to pick her up. I arrived at 315 and they brought her out to me. She was still totally dazed. I had to carry her to the car. Once back at my apartment she was still drugged up and sleeped. I took her out but she could barley pee she was so tired. Finally around 10 at night she seemed to be little more like herself. She slept through the night with out issue.
Day 2
She woke up and I took her out. She walked down the stairs on her own but seemed sore. I took her on a couple of walks and she did some good sleeping. I was given some medication(honey flavored stuff-three day supply).
By the end of day two she seemed to be 50 percent of normal.
Day 3. Well she woke up on day three full of energy. She was back to normal. Now I had 7 days to deal with a maniac puppy who cant be off a leash.
Day 3-10 Most people that I talked to said that they let there dog off the leash soon after the spay. The doc told me ten days. So 10 day it will be. I took her for long walks but still could not tire her out on the leash( she normally goes for at least one walk off leash for over an hour a day) I was given an e-collar but she showed no signs of licking. I did put it on her when I was not around and at night.
Well the doc took out the 3 stitches today. Said that she looked great and could tell that she was not running around or licking them.
After she had her stitches removed I took her on a nice long hike. Its good to have her back. A good dog is a tired dog and I realize this more then ever.
