Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place?

But here goes: Obviously I haven't been a member here very long and don't have many posts, but when I checked in today I had a private message in my 'Notifications'.
I went to my inbox and the 'subject' sounded like spam, so I didn't open it.
What should I do? Doest it need to be forwarded to someone or should I just delete it?

You can certainly report it. Just open the message - deny any return receipt if requested. Then click the little "yield sign" in the upper right. All of the moderators will then get emailed and we can ban the user. Once you report it, feel free to delete the message.
