Well I have Nuts and Minnie home from where they were staying, and I think all they did was freakin eat!

Sigh... It's so hard to get weight off cats!!!

Here's a pic of Nuts laying on my lap, he's huge this picture doesn't even do his size justice...

Our cat would be a blimp if given the chance. She's a failed free feeder for sure. At last count, she was eating 3-4 CUPS of food a day, every day, for a week with no signs of slowing down. Other than to vomit or 'explode' in the litterbox. Till I gave up on that. You know your cat has an issue when she goes from eating, to getting rid of eating too much in one of two nasty forms, then goes right back to eating.:yikes:

There was a whole summer where she'd get out the front door, run across the street and behind the houses, and come back needing some major rear end cleaning a few hours later. I think someone a street away was leaving cheap cat food out for the strays or something and she'd run and gobble it all down (I've been told by several people to leave a bucket of food out for the ferals/outdoor cats, so they don't get into your garbage) and then of course it'd go right through her and she's a long haired cat...

She now gets scheduled meals. And as far as I know the free food outside is gone, it hasn't happened for a year now.

Hope they don't mind the reduction in meals...:rofl1:

OMG! My dogs don't even eat that!
My cat has 1/2 cup or 3/4 cup a day. That's all we can get in her. She is a petite cat but even eating that she has a little poochy belly.

I think your cat might need a 12 step program :lol-sign:

We were just thinking about this the other day for one of our cats... we free feed all three, but he is the only one who weighs a good twenty pounds.

It's gotten to the point where he can barely make the jump onto the island counter top, so we decided it's time for an intervention!

Our cat's also on meals - we had an automated feeder for a while until we realized he had figured out how to bypass the baffles and use his paws to get food whenever he wanted it! He gained a couple of pounds before we realized!

Everyone in my household is fed on a schedule. It's just not an option!

My 10 pound (or should be 10#) cats eat either get 1/4 cup of dry, 2.5oz canned, or 1.5-2oz raw per meal. They are fed twice daily. That said, the easiest way to keep my "wanna-be-fat-cat" happy is to feed gorge meals a couple times per week. I use raw bone-in chicken so he has to work for it at least.

Cats are also natorious beggers... Our barn cat will pester you til you share a little of whatever you are eating with him.
