Someone just dumped a cat and four kittens on my porch!!!

Okay, it's been a long time since I've been this upset. I came back to my house from feeding the horses and saw that someone has dumped a mama cat and four tiny kittens on my front porch. I am a responsible pet owner...all of my animals are fixed. It is so unfair that someone else is lazy and doesn't get their cat fixed, and when she gets pregnant, they dump her out to be someone else's problem. I don't have the money to keep five cats let alone get them all fixed. I called the local shelter and they are too full to accept anymore animals. I don't know what to do. I'm going out of town for a week on Sunday so they can't stay here. This makes me so mad...some people are just so selfish and irresponsible. I guess I'll spend my day off trying to find a place for the homeless cats now instead of training my horses like I was supposed to do

Try not to be mad at the cats and kittens. It's not their fault that someone did this to them and you. Do you know anyone that could either - keep them while you're gone and try to find them a home, or feed them at your place and keep an eye on them while you're gone and you find a place for them when you get back?

I never said I was mad at the cats. If I was mad, I would have taken them to our local kill shelter. I know it's not their fault. I'm mad at the idiot who allowed the mama cat to become pregnant. There is no one around that will look after them for me. My mother in-law is the only one who will be here in town and she is very allergic to cats. The kittens are only a few days old so they can't stay outside, otherwise I would just leave them in my barn. There are big dogs around and I'm afraid they would get eaten. They can't stay in my house because my cat is in there and I'm not exposing her to cats who probably have never had shots. This is awful...if people would just fix their animals this wouldn't happen. I'm gonna keep thinking....

Maybe if you call your vet they may have a suggestion.

Yeah, I called my vet but they won't accept any animals that aren't old enough to be adopted. They said to bring them in once the kittens are older, but that's gonna be weeks from now. These little babies are only a couple days old. I guess I will have to pay someone to come take care of them while I'm gone
