I had to log back on and show you all where I found Kona when I got back upstairs. I think she's happy!

Happy? She looks ecstatic to me ;)

Oh, I've been meaning to ask you this: did anyone warn your hubby that the mastiff breeds are notorious for prefering the women in the family?

Renee, it's wierd that you mentioned that. The breeder told us that any pup he gave us would definitely bond with me; now I know why since you say mastiffs prefer women. I'm so happy about this! Kona will be my big little girl forever.

She'll be more than your big little girl ;) I recognize the look in those eyes. I think you've got a Buffy of your own. There's a special, adamantine bond with a female dog like that. It doesn't change, lessen or affect the bonds with Max or CJ in any way, but there is something different there. One day you realize that when you reach out, that big head appears under your hand; that she is always watching - a constant loving presence and a companion. I don't know quite how to explain it. It's not like a human/canine bond - it's more of a soul to soul connection that has nothing to do with the packaging either of you came wrapped in.

Wow, Renee, what you said means so much. Buffy sounds like she was such a special girl, especially with you. Kona has a face I just love to kiss!
