I recognize the look in those eyes. I think you've got a Buffy of your own. There's a special, adamantine bond with a female dog like that. It doesn't change, lessen or affect the bonds with Max or CJ in any way, but there is something different there. One day you realize that when you reach out, that big head appears under your hand; that she is always watching - a constant loving presence and a companion. I don't know quite how to explain it. It's not like a human/canine bond - it's more of a soul to soul connection that has nothing to do with the packaging either of you came wrapped in.
