and on her chin a couple of weeks ago. Gross. The skin felt granulated and she was losing hair. OK. Off we go to Dr. Vet. Pweeqk gets an antibiotic shot and a prednisone shot. Blood tests. Ear scrapings. Could be a fungus, could be an infection, could be the moon is in the seventh house.

Chin and ears cleared up. Hair seems to be trying to regrow. Then yesterday I found a new patch of ick at the base of one ear. Back to the vet. Pweeqk, he believes, has pemphigus foliaceus, which no sane person has ever heard of. It's an auto-immune disease that attacks the skin. He tells me that treatment consists of three prednisone shots three weeks apart. This will put it into remission, probably for years, maybe forever. Fine, I said. Shoot the cat.

So I Googled pemphigus foliaceus and found that it's a rare or common disease which either does or doesn't respond to prednisone and will or won't spread/recur.

Does anyone know anything about this?

I have no clue but any creature that has an immune issue has my greatest sympathy. I sure hope you can find out some information that will help.
