Yeah if you were in chat you've heard this before. I was at the dog park with the girls and suddenly I heard this rumbling sound. I look up and I thought the top branches of the tree in front of me were coming down. So I yelled at the girls to come with me and ran the other way. On the other side of the sidewalk there were two people and their dogs. A girl with her bc and a guy with his mix. It took me a second to realize it wasn't just a branch falling, but the whole tree was coming down!

Anyways luckily all three of us and all four dogs missed the falling tree. It was pretty crazy. How often do trees just fall on people? Kind of freaky. One of my friend's sisters died in high school because a tree randomly fell on her.

Right afterwards:

It did not seem to phase Mia one bit:

Wow, I'm glad you're ok, and that your dogs weren't traumatized. Had that been Daisy, she would have been freaking out something terrible.

I've had a branch randomly fall on my car before while I was driving under trees. And the house I go to during the week to help take care of cats, has this tree near the driveway with a HUGE dead branch on it that I'm nervous about. You can hear that branch creaking and groaning in the wind; wish I didn't have to park my car almost under it, but there's really nowhere else to park in their driveway until some more of the snow melts.

Wow glad no one was hurt. Mia seems to think the down tree makes for easier access to those pesky squirrels.

Scary! Love the pic of Mia though - looks like she took the tree down all by herself. Lol!

I've heard trees coming down nearby while walking the dogs in the woods and there is one that we pass on a regular basis that is slowly falling apart but luckily we've never had to run for it. (With my luck, I'd run the wrong way...)

Wicked! Was that at Research?

Glad you're safe and all but I'm slightly jealous. That's an awesome story.

I only saw the first picture and just KNEW that Mia would be straight up in the top of that tree.... then I saw the second picture. :rofl1:

Glad you're all safe, it does sound pretty scary!

Have you had a lot of rain? Any freezing? When it's too wet trees can get unstable in the ground and if there have been freezes they can get heaved right out.

Mia . . . :rofl1:

LMAO at Mia on the tree. That is crazy... I wonder what was wrong with the tree that it just fell like that?!

One day it was storming out and Auggie wanted to go out and potty. I looked outside at the weather and thought "Um... I think you can hold it, Auggie." A few minutes later a huge branch broke off the tree and fell right where I would have been standing/Auggie peeing. Thank God for Auggie's bladder of steel!!

Yep it was at research!

Yeah it's been raining all the time lately. I bet that had to do with it, but there was absolutely no wind today.

Mia thought it was all very fun. ;)
