I met this guy at the laundromat that had his dog there with him. His dog could smile on command. The dog would lift her upper lip and show all her teeth. He said he taught his dog just by saying smile lifting up the dogs lip for her and giving a treat and she caught on. I thought that was so cute. What a way to show off I am going to train that to at least Sophie.

I've never trained that trick with a dog, but taught both Boston and Tristan to smile on command. Tristan's cue is "Say Cheese!".

Mocha knows the smile command - but when being commanded to smile, he'll open his mouth widely instead of just show his teeth

My parents had a sheltie rescue once that would smile at everyone who walked in the door and would smile on command. He was adorable.
