Thanks for all the info guys! I'm going to suggest looking into Yorkie rescue as well. I'm not sure how sold she is on getting a puppy vs. an adult, but I'm hoping a young adult might be okay for her.

What i love about pugs, is that if your an active fun person, your pug will be also

and if your a lazy ass who wants to sit on the couch and eat potatoe chips, so will your pug lol

they are very versatile little dogs

I would say pomeranian however they can be vocal. Training helps tremendously, though.

Male pomeranians, properly sized, are usually in the 4-5 pounds range. Females are usually 5-7. Lots of hair upkeep, though. High energy dogs, cocky little things.

My parents had a pug. The dog was a HUGE yapper... over everything and anything. Foxy mentioned a squirt bottle for yapping. Doesnt work for a stubborn pug, and my mom even put lemon juice in the bottle. Though I'd never advice doing that, it still did not phase her pug one bit. I've seen some really quiet sociable pugs, but then I've seen the really nasty non-stop yapping ones.

Pugs do like going out and being active, but you have to be careful as they are sensitive to heat and some have difficulties breathing. Gotta take it slow especially in hot climates. Also, they are VERY big shedders.
