Hi all,

Just wanted to give a brag on Elite, my Giant Schnauzer. Some of you who are on other boards already know the news.

Elite received her Schutzhund III title on Saturday, 25 Mar, 06. Her total score was 276 (perfect being 300). We are extremely proud of her! I also want to give a HUGE thanx to Richard Shook who did a wonderful job fine tuning her and working her on the field. Both of them were a real show stopper!

Elite received 2 trophies, High in Obedience, and High in SchH III. Again, we couldn't be more proud!!:D

Wow! That's great! I've only seen Schutzhund competitions on TV (would love to see one in person); the latest one I saw involved a national competition between police depts. Is that the same level?

Although the concept is the same, (testing the dogs agility, obedience, and courage) the technique is different. I worked police dogs in the USAF, and have found that some things in the protection work are different. Schutzhund is different in the aspect of strict routines, and control. Not only the control the handler has over the dog, but the amount of control the dog has of himself. Stability of nerves and temperment. If you ever get a chance, go and watch a trial.....they are really fun and you can meet so many interesting people!

I'm working on the pics....getting them off of my video camera, etc. As soon as I get things put together, I'll be sure to post!

Congratulations!!!!!!

That is just so magnificent that you both made this accomplishment, and I mean both of you. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to attain those titles.

I can't wait to see your pics!

LOL, Thanx RD! We are so glad to have her home....this place was so empty without her. Even with the other to pups (I use that loosely) it just wasn't the same. She is our baby.

Giny, you are so right! The trophies are really cool and are currently showing themselves in my curio cabinet. This will sound weird, but you all (in the dog world, as well as GP) are the only ones who really give a hoot. My family could really care less, as they are not dog people. On top of that, they don't really care what Elite does, and don't want to listen when I try to explain. They have it in their head that she is an "attack dog".......in a way that's a good thing, as it keeps the in-laws away! lol But I really don't have anyone to share her accomplishments with, so you all are it!! Don't you feel included? LOLOL
