There is a pretty good chance that my family is going to be moving to Texas. Which sucks. I don't want to move away from all of the friends I've made in the past 8 years, because honestly, I'm not the best at introducing myself to new people. When I've told my parents my side of the story, they say "You're opinion doesn't matter, we're the parents" (literally a quote from my mom.) I have told them that I'm quite shy and don't quite like making new friends, but they always just brush me off. I just... *sigh*

I don't know how to deal with it. 2012 has not been a good year for me. :/

Sorry guys, Just needed to rant. :(

I'm sorry, I hope their reason is valid. Moving must be rough when you're not in control. :(

The only reason they've given me is "It is warmer there." My mom tried to bribe me with 'you'd be allowed to get another dog', (which would live outside anyways...) but honestly a dog isn't worth losing all my friends. :/

    Boo :(
Moving sucks when you are shy.
If you know what area you are moving to maybe look for some dog related activities or classes where you might meet some potential pals? Check out facebook for group pages for dog parks in the area too, can give you an idea of the kind of canine crew you could hang with.

Thanks for the suggestion. At the moment, I'm just hoping my parents will change their mind...

No sense in stressing out until things are actually in order. Someone would have to secure employment first, which can take quite a while from a distance, especially if your parents aren't in high demand fields.

Sorry though--I remember being scared when I thought my dad's job was going to transfer him. Luckily it never happened. And then I chose to move myself 3000 miles away anyway a few years later :p

My family planned very much on moving to North Carolina when I was 15...even went to look at houses and put our house on the market, and it never happened.

It's going to suck if you have to leave your friends, that's true. And especially if you're shy, it can be really crappy to move at first. But honestly, if you DO end up moving, it might be the best thing that's ever happened to you. With all the technology/skype/facetime/etc...it will be fairy easy to keep in touch with the friends you have (not that it makes up for not being there, but it does make it better than it was ten years ago), and even if you think you won't make any new friends, I PROMISE you will. You might meet someone who will be your best friend for the next 50 years, or a group you have tons of good times with, or the person you're going to marry.

Getting a job would me easy, sadly. My dad already works at home, and his job is all the way in St. Louis, while we live in Indy.

I've always talked about wanting to move somewhere warm, but now that we might actually move away, it is stressing me out beyond belief.

That's true... there is a lot of techno things (We're lucky to live in a world like that...) I'm just hoping that it'll turn out good, if it happens. But thanks for the positive insight. :)
