Hi,
I'm new to this site and also got a new pup yesterday. A Dobie of 7 weeks. We've called him Major.

He's been going outside to relieve himself. He tends to shiver a lot - I'm wondering if this is just nervousness as most of the time he's jumping around like any normal pup. Any ideas ?

He seems a bit sceptical about having his bowl to himself as he takes bits out and takes them away and jumps around the bowl as if someones gonna come and take a chunk out of him. Bless - he's obviously not been high in the pecking order.

It seems like an age since I had a pup. I lost my GSD to heart failure in Jan. He was 12. A great age but when they've gone it feels like just a short time. It broke my heart. I still miss him everyday.

This site has really helped me to realise when the time was right to find a new dog friend. Thanks guys.

Sorry forgot to say I think Nova is a great name. We found it really tricky and only names him when he came home yesterday.

Look forward to hearing your progress as our dogs are the same age and we got them on the same day !!

Enjoy.

Hi Kellie, welcome to the dog forums. My dobie used to shiver to when he was young... shoot even when he was old... it is normal in my experience. Ask in the puppy forum for more responses. This forum is just for new member announcements.

Blinkme1, I would name the cute pup... Scruffy :)

My puppy does the exact same things! She shivers when we go outside, she simply does not like to be outdoors. Also she takes her food from the bowl, one by one, and eats it on the carpet. Sometimes she doesn't eat from the bowl at all. I had to feed her from the carpet or from my hand. I would love to hear people's ideas on this. Thnx!
