Seperation Anxiety? My dog won't walk with other people

Hey there fellow dog lovers!

I came here with a question today, because there's been an issue that I can't seem to work on for quite a while.
My dog is very clingy to me, which is generally fine. It took us quite a while to learn that he can stay home alone but we got there and he's fine with that now.
But there's one thing I can't seem to change: He refuses to go with other people when they want to go on walks with him (when I'm around, if I'm at work or smth, he has no problem whatsoever)
I currently live with my family and if one of them tries to take him outside without me he will cry and howl and pull towards me. He does the same when a friend holds his leash for me when I'm out with him. Because I've raised him on my own, I made the mistake of not thinking about getting him used to situations like that. He seems to think that they want to take him away or that I'll be gone when he comes back. I realize that it's my fault, but I don't know how to teach him to trust that there's no problem in taking a few steps away from me with somebody else. He won't take even the best treats in that stage and isn't interested in his favorite toys either. Any ideas?

Have you tried walking along while a friend is holding the leash? Start off by you holding the leash and while walking gently pass the leash along to your friend.

Yes, we do that sometimes. He seems fine with it as long as I'm still in the same range as the leash gives him, but he tends to be more careful and either walks right behind me or beside me, as if expecting me to sneak off. There are days when he's more laid back about it and just walks in his usual way, but as soon as I get out of leash range he will pull and whine again.

It may just take time. Move away as much as he feels comfortable and then very gradually increase the distance.

A dog could have separation anxiety if he grew up with only the owner, but we can avoid or get rid of the separation anxiety by socializing him in the puberty. Try to start from walking your pup with your families or friend and let others hold the leash, so he can get used to walking by other people. However, If he is an adult dog, you might need much time on the training.

I would suggest picking one person at a time and let that person coax the dog out and walking with treats. See if that works.
