I am leaving at 4AM to take Chloe upstate to be spayed, declaws removed, and a liver biopsy done to confirm MVD.

I will be staying the night.

So send good vibes please that all goes well with her!

Fingers crossed for you!!! I hope it all goes well!!!

I do have a few questions though... why are they doing a liver biopsy for MVD? You do mean Mitral Valve Disease right.... as I thought that was confirmed/watched through auscultation of the heart or cardiograms?

MVD is microvascular dysplasia a disease of the liver.

She had bile acid tests done that were higher then normal but not high enough to indicate a shunt... usually this means MVD... but only a biopsy can confirm.

long story very short... Chloe did not have the procedures today... we drove 5 hours in a snowstorm and had to come home before the vet even started... there was an emergency at home that had to be attended to immediately... it was a very crazy 24 hours, nothing I hope to experience again.

Thanks for the vibes...

I guess she will just have to get done closer to home in a few weeks.

Oh gosh! I missed this thread before. Poor Chloe. That was an awful thing that you had to drive all that way in a snow storm and then come back. I hope everything is okay at home. Yes, when you do get the procedure done, I'll send you good vibes. Liver disease is rotten, but it can be managed in many instances. Lyric had two types of liver disease and he did quite well on meds and a special, home made diet.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you, Chloe and the rest of the family.
