Scary moment with Jackson!

I am over at my dads house and it's kind of out in the "country". Most of the dogs roam around free, and most don't cause an issue and are friendly (except the pooping on our property )

But there's this one Lab, Titan, who has ALWAYS caused problems. Two years ago, he charged and knocked over my then 6 year old brother and gave him a black eye. We finally called Animal Control on them and I think they got a citation.

Their dog is still consistently running loose and shows aggressive tendencies yet they have a fence but refuse to use it. Not to mention, they just added another Lab pup, have a small white poodle dog too AND Titan impregnated out other neighbors Golden last summer.

Today I wanted to take Jackson on a short walk down our street before I left for class and the whole fam went... When Titan came CHARGING while I have jackson on a leash. He was going for the neck and thank God my stepmom kicked him off. Jackson was fighting back too and growling.

No injuries but I got a small bite in the process on my pinky.

I was shaking I was so mad. This is a never ending problem with this dog too which is why I am so livid. They just DONT seem to care. My dad is ready to shoot him the next time he comes on our property.

But it was a scary thing feeling kind of useless and not really sure what to do as I see this dog charging at Jackson. I guess from now on I'll have to carry something or just not take Jackson out of the fenced yard.

I can relate with you on that one. If there's one downside to small dogs, it's that. I can't even go on hikes anymore without Cali being only a couple feet away from me in case a dog runs at her again; last time we had a 70lb lab/gsd mix come running at us and he continued to jump all over me with Cali whining in my arms trying to get away. I've also had a neighborhood gsd (being walked by an 8 year old and her friends nonetheless) who obviously had little training try to bite Cali when she was walking on the ramp near the sidewalk.

I would've been insanely livid if I was you. I'd also go have a lovely chat with the owners about it.

oh man, oh man. I would we walking up to that neighbours house screaming and ranting and saying next time I see that dog on my property its gonna have a bullet in its head.

Call up animal control again and make another complaint because thats not accceptable.

That's terrifying. About a week ago I had a Belgian Sheepdog go after Mira for no reason that anyone can discern...and at least they are fairly comparable size dogs. Can't imagine how much scarier it must be when the attacking dog is literally 7-10x the size of your dog...

My neighbors have a dog (a Black lab) like that as well.

He is dog aggressive and a fence jumper - yet, they still contine to leave him outside, unattended. I have found him in my yard four or five times, and have had to go over and ask them to retrieve their dog so I can let MY dogs outside into MY yard.

I was outside with my dogs and one of my foster dogs when the lab was let out into his yard, no people in sight. I was ushering them back inside my house when he immediately jumped my fence and attacked my foster dog. I got my dogs inside the house so they wouldn't join in, and yelled at the neighbors (hoping they would hear me) to come get their dog. I ended up breaking the fight up myself (with the help of a hose), and one of the neighbors finally came out and came and got him. My foster dog ended up having to go to the vet to get the holes in his face stitched up.

I've called animal control every single time I've found the dog on my property (with the exception of the first time), and they still have yet to do anything about it.
