Sancho has stopped spanking VIctor each time he tries to pass, or make him yelp just for the fun of it, but he still hasn't let Victor very close. I let Hyia feed, water and clean SAncho, but since I am still trying to get her to recognize tangles in her own hair, i am not leaving the brushing to her with him.
So I have him on his back, belly up, and very carefully i have brushed his armpits and belly hair to a froth. He loves being brushed and has his head in the crook of my arm, purring totally unawares that Victor has his nose snorting up here and here and here..FINALLLLLY getting to see what this creature is all about. Sancho raises his head just in time to see VIctor has his nose buried up to his eyes in orange belly fluff. Sancho's eyes were at first alarmed, and then curious. All that warm air blowing on his belly that was making him so happy suddenly had a source. YOu know these two might end up friends one day.

Awww, that sounds so cute. It's a good thing Sancho loves brushing. Nothing's harder than trying to make a cat do something it doesn't want to do.

Good to know he's coming around! They'll be cuddled up together in no time. Who can resist Victor's charms?

Yep, it'll happen if the DOG is ok with the cat, then the cat will learn to like or at least tolerate the dog given time, LOL. I'm sure there are exceptions, but that's my experience growing up with both.

Keep up with the progress Sancho!

I should try to draw that up in a cartoon. IF you could have seen Victor nose deep in fluffly cat belly hair you would have laughed. HE just forgot himself in his curiosity. AT least he didnt' snort. IF he had we might both have been scratched.

Victor doesn't have a mean bone in his body. HE loves everyone and everything. I am glad Sancho has stopped spanking him because VIctor is very very sensitive. HE can run through the woods at a breakneck speed with very little damage to show for it i think because he is so sensitive. He can twist turn, leap duck and weave like no dog I have ever seen. SO to hear him yelp loudly just trying to cross the room is not funny. THose were sneak attacks and nothing he did to deserve them. I can't have him leaping over the table or chair to avoid the cat which is what he started doing before Sancho and I had our nose to nose discussion about it.
