I've noticed a certain behavior with sadie lately. She doesn't do it all the time but on occasion she will point. Alot of times to our cat... before chasing after her. Is pointing a behavior of labs...or even pitbulls?

Pointing is a behavior in many breeds...it's part of a chain of prey behaviors.

I agree with corgipower - my old dog (she's my avatar), a 40 lb. beagle/terrier/something mix, would point moles before diving nose first into the ground to dig them up. No rodent was safe from her... :D

The paw up, or point, is part of the predatory stalk. However, it can also indicate submission. He's telling the cat that he doesn't mean it, like a play bow while growling.
