Hi everyone since I've been skulking and creeping around this forum for over a year I thought it was time to join. Expecially since I just got a gorgious Rottweiler an Alakan Malumute mix puppy. By the way you guys are awesome I come here for nearly all my dog questions. My puppy has me wondering about a million things, but I'll narrow it down to a few that concern me most.
then I'll try to survive through a few more hours till I hear your wonderful advice.
This is my first puppy He turns 4 months old in a few days and we start puppy school next week. He is the most beautiful thing in the world, but he thinks he is half alligator half goblin. okay question time.
When I tell him to do something he dosn't like or want to do, sometimes he gets kind of snappy and nips at me. and I'm not exactly sure how to respond to this?
Usually I just tell him no biting and make sure he stopped doing whatever it is. and then take my attention away from him. but I feel like everything I do with him isn't quite enough. also when we are playing or in the above scenario when he nips me I feel like it's way to hard to be acceptable.
Next question He Jumps on the counters ALL the time how to I stop this aweful habit?
what I do is tell him off if he dosn't listen I remove his paws from the counter.
if he listens I give him a treat. He usually listens and gets off, but then 3 seconds later he is back on the counter. Help
