I always thought Rosie looked like a lovely ol girl in the photos you posted. No one could ever say she wasn't loved as much as a dog can be loved. I am very sorry for your loss.
Run free Rosie.

I am so, so sorry Jess. :( (((HUGS)))

She lived a long life, and she was well loved. You can't get much better than that.

Oh Jess, I am so so so sorry. If there's anything I can do for you please let me know. Rosey was the first dog on Chaz I saw, and I can't imagine it without her. Oh gosh I'm crying. You gave her such a good life, and she was the best. <3 Run free Rosey girl

So many hugs :( our childhood dogs are so special to us. And even after years, we will always remember them - and they will always have a special place in our heart. They were there for the awesome grade school years with no worries, during the teen years when everything was weird - and for those few adult years. They are ones who took no care if you did something stupid or brought home a bad grade. As long as you gave them love, they were happy.

And while its going to hurt for a while it will get better. You did the right thing, Rosey deserved to not pass away in pain. Remember the good times (and the one where she was naughty).

I'm sure GIpsy was waiting for her in heaven and they're off doing something they shouldn't be doing together. (((Hugs)))

I'm juuuust now seeing this since I'm out of town. My heart aches for you Jess. I know it hurts sooo bad right now, but it's part of the process unfortunately. The dogs that are with us as we grow up leave a permanent impression on us and it *is* insanely hard to lose them because of that.

I'm so glad I got to meet Rosey this winter - she was such an awesome dog, and you guys were a great pair. (((hugs)))

Oh no. I'm so sorry.
Having also lost a heart dog, it's been a year now & I know it doesn't seem like it now but it does get easier, as Andrea said in the walking dead about the death of her sister: "the hurt doesn't go away, you just make room for it.

I want to post a link to a wonderful poem (maybe others who have an older, ailing or have lost a pet will find comfort in it also) I know it's on an ACD site, but it applies to all animals not just dogs:

I haven't replied here but I've been talking with Jess. My heart hurts so badly. Rosey... you could tell immediately that Jess was her girl. No question.

This photo from the shoot I did with them is one of my favourites of Rosey.

Finnegan will miss her too... they were just finally becoming good friends, and Jess and I were looking forward to many hikes this summer with them. I think that's what hurts the most. I know they'll be great buds when Finn finds her again someday. <3
