I just wanted to say RIP to all the beloved dogs that we have lost here on Chaz. I have been reading these sad stories and I wanted to say something about them. I know that all of these dogs where great, loving, caring dogs and they all will be wathcing over their owners and loved ones.
I too have lost a dog and here is his story:
Turner Lee Wood was a Black Lab who had to be put down b/c of genetic mange. he got it from one of his parents, and ended up being put down as the ending result. Turner was almost 5 or 6 months old when he had to leave me to go to the Rainbow Bridge. My dad took him ot the vet and the vet gave him some meds which where suppose to help, we had to give the meds to him for about 2 months. I saw NO improvements while giving the meds. My dad took him to the vet after giving him the meds. I was not there and I was happy I wasn't. The vet looked over Turner and said there is some bad news....the mange had gotten so bad it was inside of him, he was bleeding so much inside, his face and legs looked horrible, and he was suffering so much you could see it in his eyes. the vet put him down. My dad called me while I was at my mom's and told me. I broke down.
I always kept a journal about Turner, even though it wasn't alot of writing in it I still haveit. I never took any pics of Turner b/c he looked horrible. Instead I got a Lab Retriever book and cut out pics of Black Labs, young and old, and wrote on the back of them saying "this will be Turner in a few years" or "He will be duck hunting like this dog soon." He never got to do any of this... I still have all of that stuff today.
RIP Turner and I will be with you! RIP to all the other dogs that are in the Rainbow Bridge now.
