I am copying and pasting this from Facebook:

We were training in the front yard on a 4' leash, she bit me, I dropped the leash in shock, she ran off, I went after her, I called my dad & him and his off duty cop friend started driving around looking for her. About a mile up the road from where I was, the cop called dad & told him to come get me. Penny was hit. And the sorry ****er drove off. And left my dog in the middle of the road. The cop took Penny to the vet & dad and I met him there, then the vet tells me that the person that hit her caused her skull to crack open and they found a tumor on her brain. Which is what has been causing her aggression lately. The vet said she wouldn't have made it another month. But it still doesn't make things easier. I'm sorry if this all seems scattered but i am incredibly upset and can barely type as it is.

RIP sweet girl. I know I didn't have you long, but you were still mine and I will miss you more than you could ever imagine.
I love you sweet girl. Run free and give Bear some love for me.

Thanks yall.

The guy that hit her went to the e-vet and the vet called me. He hit her then went home because he didn't know what to do. I know some people don't know what to do in a situation like that, but when she had her collar on with my name, address, my number and my dad's name & number, he could of at least called one of us. Then came to the vet almost 2 hours later.
He wanted to pay for her cremation and give me $500.
I know its wrong but I didn't take it.
I felt nothing but sick to my stomach when he was there. Then he had the nerve to tell me, after I denied his offer, that "she only had a couple of weeks left to live anyways"
Yea F you, man. You hit my dog then left her there in the road. F you.

I'll say it in here too, I'm so sorry Dak ((((hugs)))) I know what it's like to have a pet for a short time and then lose them suddenly, it's definitely not easier (Rogue and Gucci were both (sorta) unexpected)

I'm sorry for your loss. I've lost great 4-legged friends that i've loved too. Some before their time, and it hurts, but we live on, mourne them, remember them and heal, because thats all we can do. Its what they would want us to do.

I lost a dog to a brain tumour when I was little. It was so unexpected and painful because she was also under a year. It hurts and it doesn't matter you only had her a short time. I'm sorry!

Ugh this is just terrible, I am so sorry. So so so sorry.

I hope you're not beating yourself up in any way. I don't think it's wrong that you turned down the money offer, either.

RIP Penny.

I am so sorry, I know your pain, I lost one of my very first JRT's that I had high hopes for shorty after getting her to congenital heart faliure, she just started seizing and never recovered, it was hard as hell... The bond may be stronger the longer we have them but losing them so fast and sudden stings no matter what...
