I am sad to report on the passing of Fritz on September 29,2010,he was 8 years old.He brought up on Sunday, hadn't ate a lot since, drank a lot of water, took him tio the vets on Wednesday,he had lost 6 pounds,he had no ambition,he just slept, sometimes would move to a different place, might have had some pain.He was to be there overnight and be on intravenous, was getting blood work and x rays done.W were to go and get him yesterday but the vet phoned around 20 to 1 on Wednesday and told Mom he had Diabetes, count 36 ,normal was 3, and his kidneys were failing,he had been peeing the house a lot, thought he just couldn't hold it,we had no idea and eh was losing he is hair,he couldn't jump up to high and sometimes when he vomited,it looked dark brown, could have been another problem. My Mom wet with my sister, when he had ot be put down,I was too broke up to go.I had come home,he would have needed 24 hour care and medicine and if the vets were closed,we would have go t a overnight clinic, that would be $500,Mom couldn't afford so we did what was best for him,he is no pain now.We are both missing him a lot,me mostly, mom is trying to brave for me,I have cried a lot,it will gradually get better. My sister's husband phoned her on Wednesday,Mom could tell he had tears as he was talking to mom,he loved fritz,Fritz liked when he came his, tail would go and Larry would sit down and Fritz would kiss his face.At first,Mom was against having another dog,but we both are missing Fritz so we decided ot get a Shih Tzu this time,.The breeder has two females there, one is pregnant, not sure about the other,it will be 5 week before the one has pups and it will be another 8-12 weeks before we get one so it will give us time to heal and I am sure I will love this dog as much as I did Fritz,I sure will miss him.I have loved all your commenting about Fritz over the last 6 years, have greatly appreciated,I hope you will extend the same courtesy to our next dog, probably will be early in 2011 before we get him/her.I f it is a male,I will call him Klio after Fritz's dad and Lilli if it s a female after his Mom.Fritz would want us to be happy, a little hard right now,but I will remember,we had a lot of great times together.

I am so sad to hear this. (((((((((HUGS)))))))))

May he find his way to meet Grammy across The Bridge. I'm sure she has space on her lap for him -- perhaps she's already met him and your dad and they are laughing at Fritz antics, now that he is free of pain and illness.

You did right by him. He lived with a great deal of love and that is what is most important to a dog.

I'm sorry for your loss :(

I bet Renee is right, and Fritz is busy keeping both Grammy's and your dad's laps warm!

And when you get your new puppy, pictures are definitely a must!

I am so sorry to hear about Fritz--but it sounds as if you did the right thing. It is always hard to loose our loved ones. Fritz would want you to share your love with another dog--and we will look forward to hearing more about your new pup.

I am so terribly sorry. He was such a dandy little fellow and there was no doubt how much he was loved by the whole family. I always had a smile on my face to see how he interacted with everyone, and how much they cared for him. Fritz has always been a favorite of mine since the first time I saw his photos.

You run free Fritz across the clouds and peek down with a wagging tail to check on all your lovely people. Find my Mary, she will show you all the best places to have fun in the sun where the angels can spoil you until one day when you can be with your loved ones again.

Go find Grammy, I know she would love to give you ear rubs.

I am glad your getting a pup. Keep that chain of love going. I couldn't imagine your family without a good dog.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear this. Just know you gave him the best 8 years possible and he's playing happily with Grammy and your Dad and all others who have loved him and have crossed the bridge. Hang in there and congrats on your new baby to come.
