Oh and I think Tina Fey also summed it up nicely about this whole "Curvy ads are helping women embrace themselves!" movement.
BS. The curvy movement is just adding to the laundry list of attributes women MUST HAVE to be considered "beautiful"

I do find it annoying,I'm not skinny I'm what they might call "curvy" I have friends of all shapes and sizes and I don't appreciate it now being flipped so skinny girls are the "wrong" ones.
I don't see why it has to switch to the other side, why can't we just ACCEPT all shapes and sizes.I know,I know fashion needs us to feel crap and have something to "aspire" too so we can buy their s***.
One that really annoyed me was one that said "THICK GIRLS-Meat is for the man,Bone is for the dogs" I mean...c'mon I'm now allowed to celebrate my shape because men like it...why thank you!
Annoys me the most because I love fashion,I love clothes,I love make-up,I love doing my hair I do it for me.I hate not being able to fit into certain things because their not built for my figure and I hate the feeling that I can't be into fashion because I'm not a certain size.

I don't think anyone should be made fun of for anything.

But as far as the current trend emphasizing stick figures and big boobs....I think that the people who have those things, should let this slide. In all honesty I believe it is a better picture to portray than what is currently plastered everywhere encouraging so many girls to have eating disorders so they can be thin enough.

When they start making every single actress and every single model plastered all over in skimpy clothes or swimsuits have REAL curves, then I might feel a little bit more sympathy with those who are just naturally extremely thin.

I think the most important thing is to emphasize being healthy, but I also think that should mean showing REAL people, not photoshopped people or celebrities who have all the money in the world to pay for personal trainers, nutritionist, and plastic surgeons.
^^^ Agreed.

Love this. And I agree with your post before this one.

I am a size 10. I love it. I was a size 6-7 when I was 15-17. I hated it. Why? Because my hips, @ss, and shoulders are to wide to pull off a size 6 and I looked like a line backer with wide shoulders, JLo with a huge @ss, and a horse with wide hips. I prefer my size now because everything evens out and it makes ME happy.
My boyfriend loves the way I look. I love the way I look. I could stand to lose some tummy weight, and I am working on it (thanks to all the health info on this forum, THANKS YALL! :D )

I don't worry about what society or the media thinks. Because honestly, I am country girl from a small town in Georgia who lives in a rural area that has great friends & family and a wonderful boyfriend who loves me and cares for me. To me, that is all I need.
As long as I am happy, F what everyone else thinks.
