Well I'll really glad to do that But I live in honduras (central america)
And they aren't shelters like in other bigger countries.

This country is really poor not the most, but that's why they aren't shelters.

They aren't even school for vets, the vets study in other countries.

But at least they are opening reptile rescue center.

The only way I can have a rescue dog her is to personaly catch one, but almost all of them have diseases like ticks a fungus called "sarna" not shure how is called in english but one where the hair falls and the skin becames dry whit grains and is contagius to humans.

Like more than a year ago one of the house next to mine, dumped they 5-6 year old chocolate lab to the street, I wanted to rescue him but knowing those people they shury say I stole him.
For his luck like a week later of the dog wandering inthe street it seems another person grabbed him, since I newer saw him again in that house.

At least the situation is getting less worse since there's now a pet secction in the newspaper and people are starting too see animals aren't toys.
But they are still many persons that hurt animals :(

It's really say to see those abandoned animal even horses and cows

hi and welcome back! It must be horrible to see all those stray dogs wandering about, I couldn't live in a place like that I would end up catching them all and go broke. It sounds like you are describing what we call mange (the skin disease you were talking about) Unless it's super severe it is curable. I saw one of your favorite breeds are Shar-peis I had a shar-pei Mix named Max, He was a great dog! Hope you enjoy the forum.

Welcome back, SL! I'm so happy for you to be here! I visit the islands ALOT (well, not that much, but when I go on vacation I try). And I realize how different every country/culture is. And how difficult it can be for Americans (especially) to see these poor babies we know need help. I'm the epitomy of an "American Tourist" buying cat and dog food at a store and making many friends while I visit the islands! I applaud you in wanting to help another animal in need. And glad to have you back!
