Retriever Scaled with Boiling Water Dies at Shelter

Interesting - according to the fb page for the shelter, this dog was not abused, but had an autoimmune disorder. They located the owners; they had taken the dog to the vet in Feb (vet confirmed) and received antibiotics for the condition. The dog "loved being outside" so her owners let her roam outside (?!) and that's how she became stray. Some things still don't add up to me though...
I don't know if she was abused or not but I do know my friends had a dog that got sick and did end up looking like that. He was on meds for the rest of his life and people always called animal control on the and called them animal abusers.
There are always two sides. They have a vet that is stating they went to them to get treatment for the dog I don't see any wrong doing other than letting the dog wander.

Is she dead? From the comments on her page it sounds like it.
There was a dog once that I saw that was so bad it was unbelievable. THe woman who owned it and many many others was in her 90's and legally blind. She lived alone, and had the dog food delivered. When she died she did not know that many of her dogs had mange. All were spay and neutered and all were old. One in particular was not pink, the skin was magenta from nose to tail. One big solid raw sore on four feet. That dog jumped escaped when animal control went in. Who knows how these dogs get in the shape that they do.IF you saw that dog from a distance you would have sworn it had been burnt. I am only grateful that if this dog was found before infection finished her off. IF she is dead, she was spared some more pain.
