Removing Dew Claws??

I'd remove them if they were kind of loose, and I'd always remove them on dogs with very prominent eyes. Other than that, I don't see a major need to. Dakota's are very firm and he's never had trouble getting them caught on things as long as I keep them trimmed short.

it really depends on the work they do, all my jacks have their but the pups mum didnt and she only has very small scares, when Jacks compete in soem classes shuch as go to ground, I have herd of a lot of them ripping them off, it really depends on the breed, i have never had a dog with back ones so i havent had a prob with them, but yes its a personal opnion, just like docking and cropping

Mine still has his.

He actually uses them to grab onto things. His nails also split automatically when they get too long so no need to cut them. :D
