I'm going to be doing my own senior portraits (along with another photography friend) and I think it would be wise to invest in a remote.

On the specs it says it works with the D40x. Any advice or opinions?
Also, what is the difference in Lightroom 3 and Lightroom 3 Student/Teacher Edition? It's a whole bunch cheaper: Amazon.com: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 Student & Teacher Edition: Software
