My husband has been relocated and we are moving at the end of the month. We will be living with family members and are unable to take our dog Hannah. She is a small black lab mix and is about 5 years old. She is a house dog and prefers to be inside than outside. She is very loving and wants affection any time you'll give it. We can't stand the thought of giving her to the pound because we don't want to think of what they may do if she is not adopted.

We are in the Louisville Kentucky area, if anyone is intrested, she will be free to a good home-we just want her to go to someone that will love her as much as we have.

Has anybody else dealt with this and what did you do to solve the problem? Help..us find her a loving home.

I would not give her away free. She could be going to a research lab, or going to be resold, or even used as bait in a dog fight.

Good luck and I am sorry you have to give your girl away.

I am so sorry you have to rehome your furpal! Check in your area and see if there are any lab rescue groups or a no-kill rescue for all breeds. You might also check with your vet - they may know of a perfect family who will give your love & care as you have.

Do you have any other family or friends who could take her until you found a better solution? I am so glad I have never been in the position to give up my pets, to me it would be like finding some one to take my child. I couldnt give my dogs to anyone for any reason, thats me, I am not trying to make this harder for you, thats not my intent., I just hope you have exhausted every possiblility. Good luck and I hope you find a way to keep your pet.

I know how you feel. I am in the process of finding a home for my boston terrier, Dixie. Her and my other dog, Beulah, don't get along, and I have tried everything. But, I think it would be best for her to find a home that she will get all the attention she needs. It breaks my heart to have to do this, but my grandma has a friend that used to have a boston terrier and it got real sick so they had to put it down, and she may be interested in taking her. I won't give her to just anybody. I have to know for sure that she will be going to a wonderful and loving home.
