So this kitten I'm fostering is having such issues with pooping. He had an enema last Friday and a lot came out. And I tried stuff to help him go, like feeding him cow's milk, since that's supposed to cause diarrhea in kittens, but it didn't work. So on Monday, at the evet, he had another enema. And a lot came out. Then on Monday night at 11:45pm, while he was being watched by a friend, he pooped by himself.

    And he hasn't gone since.

    YES we stimulate him.

He is being fed kitten food now. No more KMR. My friend fed him KMR while she had him for a day, I think it might have stopped him up again. I did not feed him KMR at ALL on Monday after his second enema, which seemed to help since he went that night. (the evet told me the KMR could be causing issues since it doesn't have a lot of fiber).

We give him a prescribed kitty laxative/stool softener from the evet.

The kitten is probably 5 weeks old now. When is he supposed to pee by himself? At this point he never ever does, and I still have to stimulate him.

Any ideas at ALL to make him poop? Or do I just keep taking him back to the vet for enemas ever several days? :(

Nvm, you can disregard this post. Benny has decided to pee and poop on his own now. I went upstairs to check on him and found a little turd in the corner of his carrier. :D

His towels are now in the washing machine.
